Things To Do

Since you’re making the trip to Positano, we hope you’ll take some time to enjoy everything the Amalfi Coast has to offer! Late April is a beautiful time to visit, with mild weather, fewer crowds, and plenty to explore before the summer season begins. We’ve put together a few ideas to help you make the most of your time while you’re here.

🌸 Explore Positano

One of the best things to do in Positano is simply wander. The town is full of charming winding streets, colorful boutiques, hidden stairways, local ceramics, cafés, and breathtaking coastal views around every corner. Spend time getting lost, shopping, stopping for a spritz, and discovering all the little corners that make Positano so special. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended—there are lots of stairs!

☀️ Relax by the Water

Enjoy Positano’s beaches, take in the views, and have lunch by the sea. • Spiaggia Grande • Fornillo Beach (Depending on the weather, it may be warm enough to swim—but the water will still be chilly!)

🥂 Long Lunches & Aperitivo

One of the best ways to spend an afternoon on the Amalfi Coast is lingering over a long lunch, followed by aperitivo with a view. Some favorite spots: • Da Adolfo — a Positano classic, only accessible by boat and perfect for a relaxed beachside lunch • Chez Black — right on Spiaggia Grande, great for people-watching and a spritz • Lo Scoglio — worth the trip to Nerano for a long seafood lunch by the water • Franco's Bar — one of the best sunset aperitivo spots in Positano • La Sponda — a romantic splurge dinner with incredible ambiance • Il Tridente — beautiful rooftop cocktails and sunset views

🍝 Take a Cooking Class

For a fun and authentic way to experience Italian culture, consider taking a cooking class while you’re in Positano. From homemade pasta to Neapolitan pizza, it’s a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. Recommended experiences: • Positano Home Cooking — small-group classes in a local villa setting, focused on traditional regional dishes and wine pairings • Marina in Cucina — hands-on cooking experiences right in Positano, ideal for a half-day activity • Positano Pizza Experience — a fun evening option centered around authentic Neapolitan pizza-making, great for families and groups • Walk Cook & Eat — combines a scenic village walk in Montepertuso with a home-style cooking class and meal for a more local experience

🍋 LIMONCELLO EXPERIENCE

Experience one of the Amalfi Coast's most iconic traditions with a hands-on limoncello experience in Positano. Visit a beautiful lemon pergola overlooking the bay, learn how authentic limoncello is made using local Amalfi Coast lemons, and enjoy tastings of limoncello and other regional specialties. It's a fun and uniquely Italian activity with incredible views. Recommended experience: • Valentì Positano — choose from a tasting, a limoncello-making workshop, or the full 1.5-hour experience, where you'll make your own limoncello and lemon marmalade while learning the family's traditional recipes in a scenic lemon garden overlooking Positano Bay.

🏛️ Explore Nearby Towns = flexible half-day or casual exploring

Take a ferry or car and explore some of the Amalfi Coast’s most beautiful towns. • Amalfi — historic charm, shopping, and the Duomo • Ravello — stunning gardens, cliffside views, and quiet elegance • Praiano — a laid-back neighboring town with beautiful sunsets • Sorrento — lively streets, shopping, and great dining We recommend downloading the Ferryhopper app to easily view ferry schedules and book tickets between towns.

🌊 Visit Capri = bigger day trip / more of an event

Take the ferry for a day trip to Capri for shopping, beach clubs, and lunch by the water. It’s one of the most iconic day trips from Positano and well worth the visit. We recommend booking ferry tickets in advance through the Ferryhopper app.

⛴️ Take a Boat Day

One of the best ways to experience the Amalfi Coast is from the water. You can charter a private boat for the day or join a small group tour departing directly from Positano. Most boat days include stops for swimming, sightseeing, and lunch along the coast. Popular routes and stops: • Capri (including the iconic Lovers Arch & Blue Grotto, if conditions allow) • Li Galli Islands • Nerano We recommend booking in advance, especially for private boats, as availability can be limited. Ask your hotel concierge for recommendations, browse options on Viator or GetYourGuide, or explore these local companies: • Positano Boats — known for private Amalfi Coast and Capri excursions departing directly from Positano • Positanese Tour — popular for private charters and customizable day trips around the coast • My Sea Positano Boat Tour — a smaller private-boat experience ideal for couples and small groups

🥾 Hike the Path of the Gods

With cooler spring weather, this is one of the best times of year to hike. The Path of the Gods is one of the Amalfi Coast’s most famous scenic trails, offering incredible panoramic views of the coastline. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water!

🌙 Nightlife & After Dark

Positano evenings are best spent with sunset cocktails, long dinners, and late-night drinks by the sea. 🍸 Cocktails & Aperitivo • Franco's Bar — iconic sunset views and one of the best spots for an aperitivo • Il Tridente — rooftop cocktails with beautiful views over Positano • Le Sirenuse — a classic for elegant drinks and incredible scenery 🎶 Late Night & Dancing • Music on the Rocks — Positano’s iconic cave club and most famous late-night spot, located right by the beach and built into the cliffside 🍋 A Perfect Positano Night Start with sunset drinks at Franco's Bar or Il Tridente, followed by dinner at Chez Black, Da Vincenzo, or La Sponda. End the night with live music and dancing at Music on the Rocks, or take a late-night stroll through town and along the beach.
