West Shore Cafe and Inn
We love having romantic lunches and dinners at the Westshore Cafe. They have incredible food and the view while eating is incredible. It is a little pricey, but it has some of the best food and views in Tahoe. (PS: This is where we got engaged)
Truckee River Rafting
In the summer, we love taking a relaxing float down the Truckee River. The water is a little chilly, but in August it is the warmest it will be all year!
River Ranch Lodge & Restaurant
If you aren't up for rafting down the Truckee River, you can still enjoy the river by grabbing food and drinks on the patio of the River Ranch. From the patio, you will see rafters going down the roughest waters of the float, which can be quite entertaining. :)
Emerald Bay State Park
This one is worth seeing! Emerald Bay has some of the most spectacular views in Tahoe. Drive around the bay by car and stop off at one of the lookout points. Also, go down to the state park and enjoy the views!
Eagle Falls Trailhead
Check out one of the best waterfalls in Tahoe! Although it will be the end of summer and not much water will be flowing it is still worth checking out. Also the views!!!
Tahoe House Bakery & Gourmet
We love the Tahoe House for breakfast and dessert! :) This place has incredible pastries and wonderful coffee. Order at the counter and then sit down and enjoy the Tahoe air.
Rubicon Trail
This hike has some of the best views on Tahoe's west shore. You can make this hike as short or as long as you like. In our opinion, the first 2 miles of the hike are the best!
Gar Woods Grill & Pier
Head to Gar Woods for an incredible view, good food, and a good Woody (delicious alcoholic cocktails). Sit out on the patio or down by the beach for a true Tahoe feel.
Tahoe Adventure Company
If the lake is calm, there is nothing like going out on the lake on a paddleboard or kayak. The shoreline around Tahoe is beautiful and the lake can be truly relaxing. There are multiple places to rent around Tahoe, but here is a suggestion to get you started.
Alibi Ale Works - Incline Public House
After a long day of hiking and exploring the Tahoe area, there is nothing like sitting down on a patio and drinking some good old local beer. Our favorite brewery in the area is by and far Alibi Ale Works, and we think you will like it too. It also has food, so you can make a lunch or dinner out of it!
Sand Harbor Beach
Sand Harbor Beach is one of the best beaches on Lake Tahoe. You can make a day out of it, by bringing a picnic and some games! Make sure to arrive early, as the beach will get hit capacity and they will turn people away.
Fire Sign Cafe
This is our favorite brunch place on Lake Tahoe. The food is incredible and if you sit outside on their backyard patio you are canopied with the beautiful Tahoe Sugar Pine trees.
Tahoe East Shore Trail
This trail is super close to our wedding venue and is a relatively easy hike for Tahoe standards. The hike is a 3-mile paved trail. So great for strollers and bikes. :) There is one hill at the beginning, but is worth it, as the views from the top are spectacular!
T's Mesquite Rotisserie
If you are looking for a quick bite and some good food, you can miss out on visiting this place! The burritos are delicious. We suggesting taking the food to go and heading to the beach for a beautiful atmosphere with some great food!
