While working at Sandia National Labs, Dan refused to give Lauren too much attention, as he thought she already got enough....However, this effort didn't last too long, as he found himself head over heels for the most beautiful and smart girl he had ever laid his eyes on...wink, wink. :) Dan eventually gained enough confidence to ask Lauren out on a date... and the rest is history.

Dan knew he wanted to propose to Lauren when he moved to California, but he knew he needed to find a special place to ask. After 3 years, 20+ trips up to Tahoe, and Lauren stating she wanted to move to Tahoe 100+ times, he finally realized that Tahoe was the place he would get down on one knee. :) He wanted to surprise Lauren with the proposal, however by asking her to get up to watch the sunrise, she knew something was up (Dan never gets up before the sun). So that morning, they went out to a secluded dock to watch the Alpenglow, and Dan anxiously kneeled down to propose....Lauren said "Yes!!".
