Travel Note

Hotel Block (or Lack Thereof)

For those who are joining us for out of town, we have elected not to reserve a block of hotel rooms. Sheraton, Hilton, and Mariott all have outposts in Downtown Brooklyn, a few miles and half an hour by car or train from the Picnic House. Closer to the Picnic House (but farther from Manhattan) are the Union Hotel Brooklyn and the Holiday Inn Express Brooklyn. Or, if you want to go the AirBnB route, you can rent a room or an apartment in Park Slope (or any other neighborhood of our beautiful city) without (necessarily) breaking the bank. Feeling overwhelmed by all the options that NYC provides? Gosh, do we get it. Just shoot us a note at gabeandchava@gmail.com and we'll be your concierge.

Travel Note

Getting to the Picnic House

The Picnic House is located inside Prospect Park, behind Litchfield Villa (95 Prospect Park West, between 4th and 5th Street, in Brooklyn). The path to the right of Litchfield Villa will take you directly to the Picnic House. The closest subway stop is the 7th Avenue stop on the F/G lines, about a half-mile walk. You can also walk .7 miles from the Grand Army 2/3 stop. More detailed directions can be found by clicking "View" below.

Train

Befriend the MTA

Use the link below to access the trip planner for the subway. The Transit app is also helpful. A subway ride costs $2.75 (no matter how far you're going) and every rider needs a MetroCard, which costs $1. You can also use MetroCards on the bus.

Flight

JFK, LGA, What else do I have to say?

JFK and LGA are great options. In addition to cabs and rideshare services, LGA is accessible by bus and you can take the subway (and AirTrain) to and from JFK. Newark's airport (EWR) is definitely viable, but public transportation from Newark, NJ, to Brooklyn is a little more complicated.
