A Lower East Side staple, they have bagels and schmear, smoked fish, knishes, rugelach, and basically everything else you want to eat when you come to New York. They also have a cafe down the street from this location if you have time to sit down and have an egg cream.
Great comedy and music venue just steps from the Gowanus Canal. There's always something fun going on and the space itself is gorgeous. Nothing on the schedule yet for our wedding weekend, but if you're staying til Monday might, they're hosting the Moth Story Slam!
We don't go to Chinatown without stopping at Vanessa's for dumplings, sesame pancakes, and bubble tea. It gets crowded, but if you can snag a barstool in the window, you can people-watch as you sip your boba. There are a few other locations in the city; maybe you'll stumble on one accidentally!
We love to go to this museum inside an old mansion on the Upper East Side to learn about famous New Yorkers and the history of the city. The exhibits rotate often enough and something fascinating is always on display. We've learned about Corduroy the Bear, the history of activism in New York, and Jackie Robinson.
