As soon as possible! Memorial Day weekend is a very popular time on Nantucket, and hotels, flights, and ferry tickets tend to sell out quickly. We strongly recommend booking your travel and accommodations well in advance to ensure availability and preferred pricing.
Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place outdoors. In case of inclement weather, it will be held indoors at Toppers restaurant. The reception will be held outside under a fully floored tent—rain or shine.
We kindly request formal attire—suits and long dresses encouraged. Weather permitting, cocktail hour will be on the lawn, so please keep that in mind for footwear.
Yes! Friday — Welcome Party Sprinter vans will shuttle guests from the Wauwinet to the White Elephant for the Welcome Party, with return service back to the Wauwinet afterward. The White Elephant is centrally located in town, so guests staying at the Jared Coffin House or elsewhere nearby are welcome to walk over. If you need any additional assistance getting there, please don't hesitate to let us know. Saturday — Wedding Day Sprinter vans will pick up guests at both the White Elephant Hotel and the Jared Coffin House for the ride out to the Wauwinet for the ceremony. Return service to town will run throughout the evening, with shuttles departing beginning at 10:30pm and the last van leaving at 12:30am.
Nantucket in May can be beautiful but unpredictable. Bring layers, as evenings may be chilly or breezy, especially near the water. A raincoat is also recommended...although we hope not necessary :)
A car isn’t necessary for most guests (or recommended as parking is very limited). The island is very walkable, and taxis, Ubers, bikes, and hotel shuttles are readily available.
While we truly adore your children, the wedding will be an adults only celebration. If your kids are traveling with you to Nantucket there are several babysitting services on island, please reach out to us if you need recommendations.
