Flight
Fly to Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SeaTac/SEA). The easiest way to get around will be a rental car. You will take a short shuttle from the airport to the rental car area. We recommend car pooling with family and friends if possible! If you wish to extend your stay and explore Seattle before or after the wedding, we are happy to offer itinerary suggestions & must-see places in the city. Please visit our FAQ page for more on this. Reminder that our optional Welcome Party is on Friday evening on Vashon Island, so if you wish to spend time in the city beforehand, we recommend flying in on Wednesday or Thursday!
Travel Note
When you are ready to make your way to the island, navigate to the Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal in West Seattle. The ferry comes once every hour & the schedule can be found at the 'View' link below. (*NOTE - make sure you are looking at the schedule from Fauntleroy to Vashon). When you arrive you may see a line of cars on the right hand side of the road shoulder on Fauntleroy Way SW Street. This is the ferry line, it will be marked as such. Make sure you are not behind empty parked cars! Tell the toll booth operator you are headed to Vashon Island. The ferry ride is about 20 minutes. As mentioned in the 'Schedule' tab of this website, you are welcome to meet us at our house in West Seattle on Friday morning and caravan with us to ride the ferry over to Vashon together. If you choose to stay in the city all weekend, there is a Water Taxi that will take you from Pier 50 downtown to Vashon Island. Note: Give yourself extra travel time (especially on the weekends). Choose an earlier ferry than you think - departures can be delayed by weather, staff shortages, boat repairs, etc.
Hotel
We encourage all guests to stay on Vashon Island Friday & Saturday night, to minimize stress of ferry travel on the day of the wedding. We have sent out hotel room block links to specific family members & friends, but you are welcome to research your own accommodations as well. If you are a larger group of friends hoping to share an Airbnb rental, we encourage you to book that sooner than later as listings in the summer can be limited. Click the link below to begin your search. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding travel, we are happy to help in any way we can!
