A favorite of the Future Connellys! On Saturday mornings, we love to take Junie to the market for coffee and local finds. It’s open from 9 AM – 1 PM and is the perfect way to soak up the local charm and shop local.
If you're looking for us on a Sunday morning, you’ll find us at Old School Coffee. Located in the historic Dudley Square, this has become our favorite place to slow down and catch up over lattes before heading to church. It’s where many of our best conversations and wedding planning sessions have happened. Grab a coffee and take a moment to soak in the beautiful architecture.
Lexington’s Distillery District Just outside of downtown, this revitalized bourbon heritage site has become our favorite local hotspot. It’s home to the historic James E. Pepper Distillery, the stylish Manchester Hotel, and plenty of live music and shopping. Be sure to grab a drink at one of the craft breweries and don't miss our absolute favorite ice cream at Crank & Boom!
There is no better way to spend a quiet morning or afternoon than walking the historic grounds of Keeneland. What began as a simple weekend trip for Mark to visit his friend Kilian and watch the races ended with an unexpected introduction to his future wife. Keeneland will always hold a sacred place in our hearts because it’s why our story began, and where we eventually said 'Yes' to forever.
You can't visit Kentucky without a bit of bourbon! One of our favorite hangouts is the historic James E. Pepper distillery in the Distillery District. It sat vacant for half a century before reopening in 2017, and today it’s one of the best spots in town. Whether you book a formal tour and tasting or just grab a cocktail at the bar and browse the shop, it’s a must-see while you're in Lexington.
If you’re looking for the best meal in town, look no further. Carson’s is our absolute favorite spot for a night out. We love the 'Old Kentucky' elegance and the incredible cocktails. It’s where we go to celebrate just about everything. Because it's such a local favorite, be sure to get a reservation well in advance so you don't miss out.
