Morgan and Patrick first met at UCSD in the fall of 2016. She was attracted to his casual style - who wouldn't swoon over the long hair, short sleeve button-downs, and Chaco sandals? He was....well, he was mostly oblivious to Morgan, but only because he thought she was out of his league (he still does). Patrick quickly gained the nickname "Boyfriend Material" among Morgan's grad school friends, and she devised a plan to win his unheeding heart. It started with the occasional homework team-up, which led to coffee breaks, long walks on the beach (no, really), and eventually, an outing with a few mutual friends. The order of the night was Chinese Hot Pot. Morgan and Patrick were both laughing way too hard at each other's jokes. Still, the idea that Morgan was flirting with Patrick had only remotely entered his thoughts. The two broke off from the group and retired for the night at Morgan's apartment for some red wine and BBC's Sherlock. After an episode or two, Patrick famously asked "So do you normally bring guys over to your place for drinks and TV?" Alas, the poor shmuck still had no idea. He did eventually get the idea when Morgan went in for what is their most awkward kiss to date. Patrick now had irrefutable scientific evidence that she liked him, and he couldn't be happier. Huzzah! One of Morgan and Patrick's most memorable dates was a picnic on top of Mount Soledad to watch the supermoon. Morgan's roommate was stunned to hear about their plans, wondering why a new boyfriend would tolerate such a romantic affair - only to learn that it was Patrick's idea! It was a beautiful night of drinking wine and eating charcuterie under the bright moonlight. It was such a special night, in fact, that Patrick recreated the night four years later when he asked Morgan to marry him. We can't wait to celebrate our love and marriage in Palm Springs! See you then!
