I've made a check list for you! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JBg6TmozLrwmlMc9UzusyDJ71pD-hWVl2k4qJYKx07w/edit?usp=sharing Also, please check for any travel advisories before your travel day.
We absolutely recommend obtaining an international driver's license so you can rent a car as it is the most convenient way to explore the island. Cab fares can be costly and our venues are approximately an hour's drive away from the middle of the island. If you cannot rent a car, we can assist in connecting you with other guests who are also looking to share a ride / willing to carpool.
Shuttle bus services between our venue and the following hotels: Hotel Mahaina Wellness Resort and Ala Mahaina Condo Hotel will be available on the day of our wedding day on the 29th. Please be at the main entrance parking lot at Hotel Mahaina Wellness Resort by 2:50 PM if you'd like to catch it. Please do not park your car at the hotel if you are not staying there. We recommend leaving your car at your accommodation and cabbing over if you wish to use the shuttle.

Yes! Any conbini (Lawsons, Family Mart, 7/11) have ATMs for tourists to use. There may be a fee. If you have base access, we STRONGLY recommend you to stay away from using ATMs at Kadena and Foster. There is currently a huge fraud case going on.
- Please make sure you have a proper phone plan. You can see if your carrier has options for international usage, buy a physical sim card or an e-sim while in Japan (your phone must be unlocked for this), or purchase pocket wifi. - Confirm your travel plans with your bank. - Learning basic Japanese words will also be beneficial for your trip!
Google Translate, Google Maps, Waze, LINE (most popular messaging app), and GO (taxi app). If you plan on visiting Tokyo or any of the other mainland cities, I'd recommend Suica as well in case you are using the subways.
Generally, no. The only places tattoos are not allowed to be displayed at are private beaches and onsens, and coverups can be purchased in case you really want to explore these areas. Otherwise, it's not a concern!
We have not created a gift registry. Your presence at one of the most significant days of our lives all the way out here in Okinawa is a gift in itself. If you'd really like to contribute, please consider donating to our honeymoon fund. You can contact Aaron and I for more information!
