Flight
The recommended airport to fly into is Amerigo Vespucci Airport (Florence Airport). While you’re welcome to book your flights at any time, we recommend purchasing tickets around December, as flight prices are typically lower during that period. Please make sure that your flight lands by 1pm (Italian local time) Address: Via del Termine, 11, 50127 Firenze FI, Italy

We’ll be renting two large vans to make travel easier for everyone. Our plan is to pick up guests once they arrive at the airport. To help with coordination, we’re hoping for all of our New York guests to fly together and all of our Virginia guests to do the same. This way, we can arrange group pickups and start the celebration together right from the airport! (We ask everyone to be landing no later than 2:00pm) ...Notes talk about when they leave.
Travel Note
*For international flights to Italy, most airlines allow one carry-on and one personal item. Carry-ons should be around 22 x 14 x 9 inches (55 x 35 x 25 cm) and weigh no more than 17 lbs (8 kg). *Checked bags are typically limited to 50 lbs (23 kg) with a total size (length + width + height) of 62 inches (158 cm). *Since rules can vary by airline, please double-check your ticket or airline website before traveling.
Travel Note
*U.S. citizens do not currently need a visa for stays under 90 days (tourism or business) within a 180-day period. Untold Italy *Your passport must be valid (in many cases at least 3 months beyond your planned stay) *If you plan to stay longer than 90 days, you’ll need to apply for an appropriate visa through an Italian consulate or embassy before you travel.
Travel Note
The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is a new pre-travel authorization requirement that will apply to citizens from visa-exempt countries (including the U.S.) entering Schengen countries, including Italy. ETIAS is not yet in force in 2025; the current target for launching is the last quarter of 2026. *Once in place, travelers will fill out an online application, pay a fee (estimates vary, ~€7 to ~€20 depending on age) and receive approval valid for up to 3 years (or until the passport expires). *If you renew your passport, you’ll need to reapply for ETIAS under the new passport because the authorization is linked to the passport number.
Travel Note
Beginning October 12, 2025, the EU will start implementing the Entry/Exit System (EES) to replace traditional passport stamps for non-EU/Schengen nationals. Under EES, travelers entering or exiting the Schengen Area will be subject to biometric checks (fingerprints and facial scans) and their entry/exit times will be electronically recorded. Passport stamps may no longer be issued once the system is fully in place.
Travel Note
Currently, Italy does not require proof of COVID-19 vaccination, a negative test, or recovery certificate as a condition of entry.
