The legendary St. James Gate brewery, the home and teet of Guinness, is an entire experience. Six floors of historic brick building house over a century of Arthur Guinness' legacy, topped by a stunning 360 degree view of Dublin city at the famous Gravity Bar. Needless to say, the Storehouse is a must! We did the "pour your own pint" class and become certified pourers of the perfect pint!
Ireland is an absolutely beautiful country with endless sights to see. It can be hard to squeeze it all in during one trip. We have found that doing a day trip via bus tour is usually the best option for those coming from out of the country as you can see a lot in one day. Please note, these tours typically run 10-12 hours. These tours depart from Dublin, as that is where most guests will be arriving.
Shauna took Chris 3.5 miles vertically to see Cloughmore Stone ("Big Rock Rock") on his 2nd ever day in Ireland! Kilbroney Park is a great option for families as it is located near where we will be staying and has a playground for children, a Fairy Glen, a Narnia Trail the option to hike from the bottom up to Cloughmore Stone, or if you're sane, the option to park near the top and walk up the hill to the stone !
Carlingford is a charming medieval village on Ireland’s east coast, set between the Cooley Mountains and Carlingford Lough, about 90 minutes from Dublin. Known for its cobbled streets, historic ruins like King John’s Castle, and panoramic coastal views, it offers a blend of rich history and outdoor adventure. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, and kayaking, or simply relax with fresh seafood—especially the famous Carlingford oysters—in one of the village’s cozy pubs. With live music, local festivals, and a welcoming atmosphere, Carlingford is a perfect getaway for travelers looking to experience Ireland’s natural beauty and traditional village life. It is easily accessible via Ferry (that you can drive onto) which departs from Greencastle, County Down.
Going out in Ireland often involves singing, and many bars have live music especially on the weekends. Temple bar is a tourist area, however having stayed in the Temple Bar Hotel the night of the UEFA championship in 2024, we can guarantee it is a great time.
This area is buzzing, walkable and full of fun pubs! See below for a list of some recommendations, including some stops we have visited on our trips to Belfast! - The Duke of York - The Dirty Onion - The Spaniard - Sunflower Public House - The Harp Bar - McHugh’s Bar
Step into history at Titanic Belfast, an immersive museum built on the very slipways where the RMS Titanic was crafted. Wander through interactive galleries, see original artifacts, and experience the ship’s story from construction to its tragic voyage — all inside a striking building shaped like ship hulls. For a night steeped in maritime charm, stay (or grab a drink!) at the Titanic Hotel Belfast, housed in the former Harland & Wolff headquarters. Heritage-rich rooms, nautical touches, and historic architecture make it feel like you’re sleeping inside history — with all the modern comforts you need. Whether you’re exploring the museum or enjoying a cocktail overlooking the old shipyard, it’s a memorable Belfast experience that’s perfect for history lovers and first-time visitors alike.
