Air Travel Tips & Tricks

The closest airport to fly into is directly in Split, Croatia which is about a 20 minute drive away from the city center. Once you get to Europe, it is relatively inexpensive to get around. If you're planning on tacking on a trip to another country before or after the wedding, consider looking at prices in and out of those major airports or train stations which may be more cost effective. Similarly, if you plan on stopping through in Dubrovnik, Croatia which is a popular tourist destination, look at flights in and/ or out of Dubrovnik as well! We've seen flights around $49 one way from Dubrovnik to Split! Jake and I also drove up the coast from Dubrovnik to Split and it was super safe and took less than 3 hours! To get the best prices on flights, you can also monitor flights using the app Hopper, as well as Google Flights to look at their trends and understand average prices. This is also a good time to use those potentially forgotten about credit card rewards and airline miles! ;)

This is the recommended hotel for guests and where the shuttles will pick up to take everyone to and from the wedding! There is a conference at this hotel the weekend we are getting married so the sooner you book, the better! This is also the closest to an "American Style Hotel" if you're looking for a little bit of comfort from home while you're here!

Uber

Ubers are super easy to get in Split! If you prefer Ubering around, it is inexpensive and available. If you choose to rent a car, most European countries have more stick shift cars available and less automatic. Make sure before you book that someone in your group knows how to drive a stick shift vehicle or it notes that it is automatic!
