Depending on when you ask Jake and Nichole, you may get one of three answers as to how they met. They may say the dating app Hinge. Another popular answer is they connected at a Barry’s fitness class. You may also hear they met at a San Francisco Marina bar called Bus Stop. The reality is all three of those played a part in them getting together. Jake and Nichole first met back in January 2014. Their mutual friends Madison and Bjorn who had just began dating brought them together as part of a larger group while playing pool at the Bus Stop bar in San Francisco. The attraction between them was immediate, as was the chemistry. Though the timing was not quite right for a number of factors, they were always drawn to each other. Whenever they would meet up in a larger group, they would find themselves off on their own enjoying deep talks, lots of laughter and good wine. As their mutual friends moved off to other parts of the country, they found themselves running into each other much less over the years. That changed in 2019 when they did in fact match on the dating app Hinge. Though that did not quite do the trick in getting them together, their mutual love of fitness, plus a chance encounter at a Barry’s class in Palo Alto reignited that spark. They began dating shortly after and found they immediately wanted to spend all of their time together. Of course this was convenient given COVID-19 lockdowns started shortly after. Jake and Nichole spent the pandemic lockdowns growing closer, and coming up with creative ways to enjoy their stay at home dates. Their mutual love of travel and adventures eventually led them to New York where their love fully blossomed and culminated in a proposal and engagement under the Brooklyn Bridge. They are now beginning the steps towards their next adventure in Austin where they are taking on full renovations on their first home, while planning a wedding. The rest of the story is yet to be written but they look forward to include friends and family in the next chapter and joining them at Villa Dalmacija in Croatia for their wedding.
