Brittany and Brandon met on what was supposed to be a regular night out for them both, July 17th 2015. Brittany, along with her roommate Emily and friends, had started the night at the infamous Mad River happy hour (if you know you know), while Brandon was convinced by his roommate Jared to go out for a beer at Sheffield's, a local bar in Lakeview, Chicago. Brittany's group was about to head home for the night, but decided at the last minute to go to Sheffield's instead. Brittany was grabbing a drink from the outside patio bar when she noticed a cute guy aka Brandon talking to some friends of Emily's. He was trying to convince them to take a Malort shot...yes he has always been a weirdo that loves Malort! The girls were not very interested in his shot-taking and Brittany saw this as an opportunity to make her move. With the help of some liquid courage, Brittany confidently went up to Brandon and started making small talk. They quickly discovered they had a lot in common and even though that first night is still a little blurry for both of them (thanks Mad River), they formed an instant connection that neither could deny. They exchanged numbers and continued to keep in touch for a few weeks until Brandon had the bright idea of going on their first official date...attending the music festival Lollapalooza together to see Paul McCartney (a bucket list item for Brittany). It was a risky move for a first date as they would be spending the whole day together, but it ended up being an absolute blast and the perfect day! It was obvious from then on that their bond was something special and they became an official couple a few weeks later. Over 7 years later some things have certainly changed since they were in their early 20's, but others have stayed the same - Sheffield's is still their favorite bar in Chicago and yes, they still take Malort shots there occasionally (see the engagement pics for evidence). Most importantly, their love for one another remains super strong and they can't wait to celebrate their marriage next October with you all!
