Please RSVP by January 1st, 2027 or earlier. About 6 months out is when we begin working with our wedding planner, finalize on-site room registrations, and lock in all the details. It also gives you plenty of time to request time off and book flights ahead of the weekend!
Plus ones have been allocated to specific guests on the invite. That said, we may have openings due to late cancellations. If you have a special someone you'd love to bring, reach out to us ahead of time and we'll do our best to accommodate them!
Yes! And we'd much prefer that you stay at IslandWood with us!! With that being said, if we hit capacity, then see the "Travel" page for great alternatives. The IslandWood rate is $315 per room for two guests per night, with each additional guest at $80 and children 3-12 at $50. Kids under 2 are free. All rates include taxes, fees, two breakfasts, and Saturday's lunch. Friday and Saturday dinners will be covered by the couple, so you should be well fed all weekend!
Bainbridge Island has a great selection of waterfront hotels and vacation rentals as an excellent alternative. We recommend booking early as the island fills up quickly. Please see the "Travel" page for a full list. Fun fact: Colin, Jessica, and I all stayed in a waterfront rental on neighboring Camano Island for a month in 2020 and we still dream about that time together today.
Late June is one of the best times of year in the Pacific Northwest. Expect mild temperatures in the mid 60°F to low 70°F during the day with high 50°F to low 60°F at night. They have heated blankets available if you get cold outside during s'mores. You'll have nearly 16 hours of daylight, including golden hour for the outdoor reception. A light rain jacket is always a good idea just in case, but late June is generally warm, sunny, and beautiful. Worst case scenario, we are prepared for rain.
Pack layers because evenings can be cool. Comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket, and something cozy for the fire pit are all recommended.
Cocktail attire or dressy casual. Keep in mind parts of the day are outdoors on grass and forest paths, so be mindful of footwear.
Yes, and this is a great wedding for families! Lodge rooms include bunk beds alongside a queen bed, making it easy and affordable for families to share. Ages 0-2 are free and ages 3-12 sleep for just $50 per night. They have pack-n-plays available for babies. IslandWood's campus is also a wonderland for kids, with forested trails, a pond, two treehouses, a suspension bridge, a canopy tower, board games, art supplies, movies, and more.
IslandWood does not permit outside pets on campus. The one exception: our two pups, Tabor and Lyra, will be at the wedding. They are very social and will almost certainly find you.
Friday at 5:00pm through Sunday at 11:00am. We encourage you to arrive Friday evening at the latest for the welcome fire pit gathering!
IslandWood is located on Bainbridge Island, a 25-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Washington State Ferries run every hour from the Seattle Ferry Terminal (Colman Dock). Once on the island, IslandWood is a short drive from the ferry terminal. Please see the "Travel" page for more information.
Car rental options on Bainbridge Island are very limited, so if you'd like one, rent in Seattle before boarding the ferry. That said, a car is not necessary. Some considerations: Reasons to rent a car: You're not staying on-site and plan to come and go multiple times throughout the weekend; You want to explore further parts of the island like Bloedel Reserve or Bainbridge Vineyards; You're traveling with young children or a lot of luggage; there is very limited Lyft/Uber on the island. Reasons to skip the car: If you're staying on-site, everything you need is right there; Bringing a car on the ferry requires arriving significantly earlier and can mean long waits on weekends; Island transportation via Viking Cab (360-244-4420), BI Ride (1-844-424-7433), and rideshares makes getting around easy.
We are planning to arrange shuttles on Friday evening and Sunday morning between IslandWood and the ferry terminal. Outside of those times, guests will need to arrange their own transportation via Viking Cab (360-244-4420), BI Ride (1-844-424-7433), or rideshare. Note: There is very limited Lyft/Uber on the island.
Yes, there are luggage carts to the lodges. Although the grounds are very walkable, there are also golf carts and wheel chairs available if you need assistance.
On-site guests receive Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner; and Sunday brunch. Off-site guests receive Friday night s'mores and Saturday dinner as part of the ceremony and reception. Off-site guests are welcome to join for Saturday breakfast and lunch as well as Sunday brunch for a small fee. Just reach out to us for details!

Good news; the Pacific Northwest is one of the least buggy regions in the country, and late June on Bainbridge Island is generally very pleasant. Mosquitos exist, but are minimal compared to the Midwest or East Coast. A light bug spray is never a bad idea though.
