Both O'Hare and Midway are good options with direct access to downtown Chicago via our rail system. It's a relatively consistent 45-50 minute trip via train for either airport.
You can also grab a Lyft or Uber from either airport. We find that Lyft tends to be cheaper here in Chicago.
If you're flying into O'Hare, start checking your preferred app as soon as you land. Book your ride when you leave the gate (it takes them a while to get there). You'll get picked up by the Departures area (upstairs where you check in).
We're not as familiar with Midway, but the trip from O'Hare is largely dependent on the time of day / traffic. If there's traffic, give yourself about an hour to get to / from the aiport by car. Without traffic, the trip can be as quick as 20-25 minutes. Cost should be about $40 one-way.
Getting around Chicago is very easy, and best done via Uber or Lyft. Try to skip using taxis as much as you can (shady practices).
