Travel Note
I couldn't have a New Orleans wedding without doing a Second Line! Imagine a parade of people strolling down the street in celebration—drink in one hand and waving a napkin overhead with their other hand—with a bass band leading the way. Second Lines are traditionally done for weddings, funerals (celebrations of life), Mardi Gras balls, or anything else worth celebrating! Typically, the guests of honor (the bride & groom, the deceased person in a coffin, or the Mardi Gras King & Queen) lead the parade right after the brass band. The Second Line walks a few blocks around the neighborhood and always ends wherever the party is. I'm especially excited to share this Louisiana custom with all of you foreigners!
Hotel
This is where the wedding and reception will be held :) At this time, all 16 rooms of the hotel have been filled. But let me (Fran) or my Mom (Brenda) know if you'd like to stay in the hotel and if anyone cancels, you'll have first dibs!
Travel Note
The Royal Frenchman Hotel is located in the Marigny, which is a super cute and historic neighborhood of New Orleans. Being just a few blocks away from the French Quarter, you'll still get all the culture, historic vibes, and good times without all the touristy chaos. It's truly the perfect sweet spot.
