Maid of Honor
Ashley and I met 6 years ago when I accepted a position as a labor and delivery nurse at Bayshore medical center. Ashley was a charge nurse and we became best friends after bonding over alcohol in a small karaoke bar that smelled like stale cigarettes in Pasadena, Tx. We became inseparable and she is my best friend and maid of honor!
Best Man
Caleb and I met one morning while on a run at my first duty station! We ran to a place called Ranger hill, located behind the Ranger Battalion at Ft. Lewis. From there history has written itself. We have had some amazing times to include deploying to Afghanistan where our bond would become inseparable. Through Combat, relationships, and many many drunken nights. We have been through some very rough times in each others lives and I can truly say that I am honored to have Bres stand next to me as I marry the most amazing woman that the lord has placed into my life.
Bridesmaid
I met Shiva 10 years ago as the woman who tamed my older brother. Her first gesture of kindness was that she bought Emily pink sparkly Toms and sent them to me. I knew then we would be best friends. We have many adventures together now as we all travel together. From picking put roaches from our luggage to exploding water bottles and formula bags on flights. Shiva is the constant rock in our family, the peace maker amongst the crazy Halmers.
Groomsman
Here is the real Mr. Thomas. For 35 years that I have walked on this earth I can say that there has been one man in my life who has always stuck by my side through every challenge and every victory that I have had. As I was growing up my dad always said “ Josh one day a woman is going to come along your life and change your entire perspective on life” and man he was absolutely right. I am proud to call you my Father and I can’t wait to have you standing next to me while I start the newest chapter of my life!
Bridesmaid
Lisa and I met in college as we were struggling to get our BSN and RN. We both decided separately that it would be a good idea to get our BSN in 3 years in an accelerated program. We met and instantly hit it off knowing that we were prone to making poor life decisions. So here we were in college clinging to each other for survival. Here we are almost a decade later and the struggling still exists we just call it "adulting" now. Lisa is the friend I rely on for reality checks, crab boils, and roscoes chicken and waffle runs. Even though we live far apart we talk almost daily and she has made life bearable so far.
Groomsman
Throughout my time dating Frances Patrick and I have remained in close contact. In fact he was the first person in the family that I asked about marrying Frances. As he gave his blessing he welcomed me with open arms! He was a vital piece of the puzzle in becoming a member of the Halmer clan.
Bridesmaid
Rebecca and I met while I was working at Ben Taub. I remember I was out of work due to an injury and when I cam back Rebecca had lost a lot of weight and I complimented her and she said "well you should get hurt more often so you can come back and think I am so skinny". We have been really close ever since taking yearly trips to Vegas and vegging out on snacks by her oasis pool. Rebecca and I became really good covid buddies when she let me stay at her house and we pretty much hung out everyday.
Groomsman
Billy and I first met during my deployment to Syria. He was our company’s executive officer. As the deployment went on we became very close as we played many hours of non stop card games. Little did I know we would become more like family than just co-workers or friends. Billy introduced me to duck hunting, and as you all know that has consumed my life. Billy and his parents have been very influential in my life from day one showing me a side of life that I had previously never had the opportunity to experience.
Groomswoman
Liz and I meet back when I worked at universal studios through a mutual friend. Frances was a topic that came up very often. Liz has been by my side through a lot of ups and downs and has always remained one of my closest friends.
Bridesmaid
Jennifer and I met in high school when we were 14 years old. Jennifer is my oldest and longest friend. I am the person I am today because of my friendship with her. We have laughed together, cried together, fought together, and even ditched school together. When I made the cheerleading team she worked with me everyday to learn the cheers (y'all know I have 2 left feet). She even helped me fundraise for my cheer outfit by having a garage sale because I couldn't afford it. This is someone that has seen me grow and evolve through my formidable years. We may not talk all the time, but I can always pick up the phone and she will answer like no time has passed. Love this girl so much!

Bridesmaid
Nicole and I met while I was working at Ben Taub. We hung out and quickly became very close often having sleep overs where she made homemade salsas and watched scary movies. Nicole was very easy to talk to and really helped me through some hard times before I met josh. She has an amazing sense of humor and her personality lightens any situation.
Bridesmaid
Gioia and I met during my sophomore year in high Schoo. She invited me over for a weekend for a luau themed party she was having and I basically never left. We became best friends while also being teenagers. I got drunk for the first time with Gioia and we had many other adventures like getting the family vehicle stuck in the mud in the field while "off roading". Our families became very close and she is considered my sister to this day. Her family is considered my second family as they played a vital role in helping me obtain my nursing degree. I owe a part of my success today to her family for allowing me the tools to graduate nursing school during a very difficult time in my life.
Groomsman
Travis and I hit it off from the start! From sharing beers and BBQ down at the ranch, heading out on the boat with the family, and spending time on a cruise to the Bahamas. Travis has continuously been by my side even through this deployment! Can’t wait to get back and throw some meat on the grill!! And remember before you eat No washy washy No nummy nummy!
Bride’s Escort
Thiago and I have a significant age gap so I was always known as the little sister. Once my father died Thiago played a significant role in being my role model as I lost my father very young. We have our ups and downs, but Thiago has always had a good heart with the right intentions. Thiago is an amazing brother and father to his own children, but even at a very young age his maturity level and outlook on life always preceded his age. He sat me down and had a conversation that completely altered the direction my life was going in and in turn I have used that same advice to help others, including Joshua! I couldn't think of a better person to walk me down the aisle and represent my father.
