Richmond has some great museums, including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (https://www.vmfa.museum/). VMFA is considered one of the top ten art museums in the country. The current exhibit "The Dirty South" is excellent and closes on Sept 5. The American Civil War Museum is nationally recognized for its exhibits which tell the story of the war from all perspectives. Richmond has a lot (!!) of breweries: the Veil, Ardent Craft Ales, Hardywood Park, Isley Brothers, Legend (the original Richmond brewery, still with the best view!), Triple Crossing, Starr Hill, Strangeways, Three Notch'd, Vasen, and more! You can also check out Blue Bee Cider, Buskey Cider, and Courthouse Creek Cider, all located in Scott's Addition.
Great museum for younger kids, and not too far from the hotels.
