Co-Maid of Honor
Kate has been by Kim's side since the 7th grade, when they first met playing on the same softball team. Kim had just moved to Crofton, Maryland from Monterey, California—and to put it mildly, she was not thrilled about it. She was determined to dislike everything about her new “home,” but Kate made that mission impossible. Kate's warm, welcoming, and endlessly positive personality quickly broke through Kim's stubborn shell and became the very first thing she loved about Maryland. From middle school and high school hallways to spending the summer Kim turned 21 living together in Ocean City, they have shared so many chapters of life. Kate brings sunshine wherever she goes, and Kim feel incredibly lucky to have called her a best friend for so many years—and still to this day.
Co-Maid of Honor
Ashley is Kim's guiding light, her voice of reason, and the person she calls when life feels complicated and she need clarity. If Verizon kept track of friendship stats, Kim's sure their countless hours on the phone over the years would top the list. They first became close in their mid-teens, and their friendship has only grown stronger with each passing year. Like Kate, Ashley and Kim went through middle school and high school together before both attending the University of Maryland. The three of them spent the summer before senior year of college living in Ocean City—creating memories that still make them laugh today. Through every high and low, Ashley has been the steady presence who always knows how to make things feel a little lighter. Her grace and genuine kindness are rare, and Kim's so grateful to have her by her side during every step of this meaningful milestone.
Bridesmaid
Mallory—also known by Kim as her “Mal Pal”—is the kind of person who brings energy and laughter wherever she goes. Whether it’s brightening a room or chatting up a stranger in the Starbucks line with her quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Mallory truly is the life of the party. Kim and Mallory became friends during their college years, even though she was states away for much of that time. Their friendship really blossomed in the years after graduation, and over the past two decades Mallory has been an incredible friend and partner-in-crime. They’ve shared countless bottomless mimosa brunches, heart-to-heart conversations, and spontaneous nights out. Through it all, Kim knows she can always count on Mallory to show up with a bottle of wine, an open ear, and the perfect mix of laughter and loyalty.
Bridesmaid
Olivia is Kim's dependable wing-woman in life. Whether it’s a last-minute invite to a comedy show, yoga class, or happy hour, she’s usually the first to say yes—assuming she can squeeze it in between Jazzercise, networking events, and the many ways she keeps herself busy! Although Kim and Olivia went to the same high school, it wasn’t until their college years at the University of Maryland that they truly became close. Living together during their senior year sealed the deal and gave them countless memories they still love to laugh about today. Kim is so grateful for a friendship that has stood the test of time, and even more grateful to have Olivia standing by her side on such a special day.
Best Man
Matt’s older brother Mark is the reason Matt first decided to play quarterback. After watching Mark play one season back in their Crofton days, Matt figured he could probably do it too—though, in Matt’s opinion, he might have been just a little better. It was one of the few times growing up when Matt actually wanted to be like his big brother. Since they never attended the same schools, sports became the thing they always shared. These days their relationship is pretty simple: Mark makes fun of Matt because he can’t hang a TV on the wall, and Matt makes fun of Mark because he can’t fix a computer problem. Matt has loved watching Mark become a father to his two nephews, Luke and James, who he shares with his wife, Stephanie. They are raising two incredible boys who will undoubtedly grow into great men. Matt’s role has been to ensure they grow up athletic—so it’s really been a team effort.
Groomsman
Matt met Rick at his first co-ed kickball game back in 2016. Rick introduced himself by saying, “Hey, I’m Rick. My girlfriend (now wife, Emily) told me I need to make some friends.” Matt’s immediate thought in reaction to this was, "this guy seems like a total nerd"—but little did he know he’d end up being one of his closest friends. When Matt was asked who Rick was during a regulatory background investigation for work a few years after their meeting, Matt replied without hesitation: “He’s my best friend.” In the more recent years, Rick started hosting Sunday dinners with Emily and their kids, Gunner and Levi, inviting Matt to join them as part of the family. Those dinners quickly became something Matt looks forward to every week. Over the years, Rick has been one of Matt’s biggest supporters. Whether it’s sending hilariously dumb motivational videos, convincing him to try a new IPA, or staying up late watching UFC and talking through life, Rick has been an incredible friend.
Groomsman
Matt and Chad's friendship began after realizing their shared love of sports and gambling on sports. Matt brought up wanting to go to Atlantic City for March Madness to drink beer and presumably, end up gambling away roughly one paycheck. Thankfully, Chad has Laura, his wife, who quickly shut that plan down. Instead, the two found the next best tradition: calling out of work every Thursday and Friday during the third weekend of March Madness and spending about 12 straight hours watching games. When Matt and Kimberly started getting serious, Matt made one thing clear to her early on—the third weekend of March is reserved for Chad and their annual “date nights.” In those two days they somehow manage to pack in a year’s worth of laughs, bad jokes, and conversations about life. And no matter the weather, whenever Chad and Matt get together, a game of PIG on the basketball court inevitably breaks out. These days the games don’t last nearly as long… mostly because their jump shots retired before they did.
Groomsman
For the past eight years, Matt and Mark have patrolled the outfield together in their kickball league. Just about every time Matt makes a catch, he hears the same thing from Mark: “Roll Tide, buddy!”—his signature call and a clear reminder of Mark’s unwavering loyalty to Alabama football. Whenever Alabama has a big football or basketball game, Matt can usually count on a text from Mark. More often than not, that turns into sitting on Mark’s deck watching the game, grilling some food, tossing a tennis ball for his dog Boon, and talking about whatever comes up. Mark is the kind of friend where months can pass without seeing each other, and then out of nowhere Matt will get a simple message: “Want to go fishing?” or “Want to play golf?”—followed by a full day of catching up that somehow stretches late into the night.
Junior Bridesmaid
Finley is the first-born of all the nieces, blessing Kim with becoming an Aunt nearly ten years ago. She has a heart of gold and the best curls on the block. Thoughtful, silly, creative, and kind are just a few of the words that come to mind to describe sweet Finn. Finley loves all animals, she has two dogs and two guinea pigs, is a budding artist, and loves trying to make people laugh and smile whenever she can. She is sensitive to other people's feelings, demonstrating the high emotional IQ she has developed at such an early age! Kim couldn’t imagine going through her special day without Finley playing a part in it.
Junior Bridesmaid
Peyton is Kim’s other nine year old niece (born just days after Finn!) and the social butterfly of the gang. She’s outgoing, has impeccable manners, loves being in the spotlight, and confidently showcases her natural athletic abilities through the multiple sports she's juggling during any given season! Most importantly, Peyton is incredibly thoughtful and considerate, with an amazing ability of expressing her love and affection to those she's closest to. Having Peyton as a member of the bridal crew along with Finley means the world to Kim!
Junior Groomsman
Luke is Matt's nephew and essentially his ten-year-old mini-me. Every June, Matt “steals” Luke for their annual weekend together, which usually includes draining Matt’s bank account at the LEGO store, playing plenty of video games, and making sure they fit in a trip to an Orioles game. It’s a tradition Matt looks forward to every year. If it were possible to have a ten-year-old best man, Luke would probably be Matt’s first choice. He’s funny, smart, creative, a natural born athlete, and most importantly has an incredibly kind and caring heart.
Ring Bearer
James is Matt’s five-year-old nephew, and a bit of a wild man. When he comes over to Matt's place, he skips right over hello and heads straight for the snack drawer, working his way through all of his best treats. James has a great sense of humor and loves giving people whatever funny nickname he’s learned that day. He’s full of personality, does things entirely on his own terms, and always keeps everyone around him entertained. With his energy and confidence, there’s never a dull moment when James is around—and Matt wouldn’t have it any other way.
Flower Girl
Palmer is Kim’s five year old niece who was made with equal parts sugar and spice! She’s a blue-eyed blondie with a strong will and fiercely independent nature. Some of her favorite things are cookies and cake, bunny rabbits and turtles, and the color pink. She is bound to bring a few laughs during the wedding as she always does things her own unpredictable way in her uniquely Palmer fashion!
Flower Girl
Nola is Kim’s four year old niece, and an expert at sneaking sugary treats when no one’s watching and making funny faces when her Aunt Kimmy tries to snap a photo. She loves music and dancing, reading books, and is a newfound lacrosse player with a mean slap check. She’s about as cute as they come with her little curls, big baby blues and chipmunk cheeks. We can’t wait to see her shine as Flower Girl on our big day!
