Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP through this website by Sunday, Sept 28th so we can finalize seating and catering plans. We kindly ask that you RSVP as soon as possible!

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at Bohemia Overlook in North East. Address: 88 Rivers Edge Rd., North East, MD 21901 PLEASE NOTE: There is a DIFFERENT wedding venue in the region called Bohemia Manor Farm - that is NOT our wedding venue.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Guests should plan to arrive about 20-30 minutes before the ceremony start time so everyone can get seated before the festivities begin. If you are taking the shuttle from the hotels to the venue, please be on the lookout for that schedule closer to the date.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, with the reception taking place in an enclosed, heated tent on the property. We recommend bringing sunglasses for the ceremony and dressing appropriately for the weather.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is cocktail attire. Ladies: cocktail dresses, midi/maxi dresses, or dressy jumpsuits Gentlemen: suits or jackets with dress shirts and slacks (no jeans, please!) Since parts of the event will be on grass and gravel, block heels or wedges are recommended.

Are children invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration aside from our nieces and nephews who will be participants in the ceremony. We hope this gives parents a fun night off!

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We are prepared to accommodate guests listed on the invitation. If you received a plus-one, it will be indicated when you RSVP. If you did not receive a plus one on your invitation and would like to bring a date, please reach out to Kim or Matt ASAP to let us know so we can try to accommodate and adjust accordingly!

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! Complimentary parking is available on site at Bohemia Overlook. There will be signage and staff to help guide guests upon arrival. You are permitted to leave your car at the lot overnight but it must be picked up by 8 am the next day, at latest. There will also be shuttle transportation between Holiday Inn Express & Suites North East, Wingate by Wyndham North East, and the venue.

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

There will be shuttle transportation between the Holiday Inn Express North East hotel, the Wingate by Wyndham North East hotel, and the venue. Shuttle schedule will be shared closer to the wedding date. If you prefer not to drive or take the shuttle, we recommend using Uber or Lyft to get to/from the venue.

Where should we stay?

Answer

For out-of-town guests, we’ve listed nearby hotel options on the Travel section of this website. We've secured a group room block with locked-in rates for guests at both the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North East and Wingate by Wyndham North East, but there are other options in the area if you prefer to stay elsewhere. The agreed upon rates and booking codes are listed for each hotel on the Travel page. We recommend booking early, as accommodations in the area can fill up quickly during peak seasons.

What should we do while we're in town?

Answer

North East is a charming waterfront town with great restaurants, wineries, and outdoor activities. Check out the Things To Do section on our website for our favorite spots to explore while you're visiting.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We’ll be celebrating with an open bar that starts immediately after the ceremony, along with great food and plenty of dancing. Open bar will include beer, wine and liquor for cocktails.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please let us know when you RSVP if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

Yes but it is currently in-progress and not yet live! You will be able to find our registry details on the Registry section of this website, once published. Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift, but if you wish to give something, we are incredibly grateful.

Who should I contact if I have questions on the day of the wedding?

Answer

To help us stay fully present and enjoy the day, please reach out to our planner/day-of-coordinator Kate Shinsky if you have any logistical questions on the wedding day. You can also communicate with the Best Man, Mark Willey, or one of Kim’s two Co-Maid of Honors, Kate Rosa and Ashley Michael Puntch, as they will have a direct line to the planner to do any liasing.

Will the ground be grass or gravel?

Answer

Much of the venue’s ceremony and cocktail areas are on grass and natural terrain, so we recommend block heels, wedges, or flats rather than stilettos.

What happens if it rains?

Answer

The venue has a beautiful covered tented space, so the celebration will go on rain or shine! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the ceremony will simply move to the reception tent on the property.

Will there be bugs since the venue is on the water?

Answer

Because Bohemia Overlook sits right on the Chesapeake Bay, you may encounter some evening bugs—especially around sunset. The venue does a great job managing this, but we will have unscented bug spray for guests, just in case. If you prefer to apply bugspray before arrival, we kindly ask you use the unscented variety. (We're all familiar with the pungent smell of the unscented/standard spray--not very wedding-friendly once we're all enclosed in the tent!)
