Kathryn’s family originates from Alsace Lorraine, the territory that went back and forth between France and Germany. This little family-owned, hole in the wall’s chef is from Alsace Lorraine. The food is a fantastic blend of French and German cuisine. We recommend their brunch, or treat yourself to their special dinner menu.
Expand your culinary experience with this upscale Indian restaurant! Kathryn has an addiction to Indian cuisine. If you’re new, we recommend the mild spice chicken tikka masala and garlic naan bread. If you want something special, their fish moilee is out of this world. Regardless, get the vegetarian samosas!
Ian’s fondest memories of growing up in Atlanta are in the Candler Park area! Take a break from the wedding hubbub by visiting the park. Make it a picnic and grab something to eat just a short walking distance away! There’s Fellini’s pizza, La Fonda’s Pan-Latin options, sandwiches or cold take away items like sandwiches and charcuterie from Candler Park Market, Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party, or grab a Tex-mex breakfast burrito or lunch from Gato.
In an old Sears factory, there’s retail and food galore. Some ATLiens think Ponce City Market is overrated, but there’s some hidden gems. Ian loves the Szechuan place Jia and the ramen bar Ton Ton. Kathryn prefers the paneer wraps from the Indian stall Botiwalla or the burritos the size of your forearm at Minero. The Victorian plant shop is Ian’s green thumb haven. We also recommend paying extra to go to the rooftop for the view and carnival amusements.
If you think you’ve had a milkshake...you’re wrong. Right across from our venue is a milkshake bar that tops their mason jars with edible cookie dough, cheesecake, etc. You can even build your own if you dare. Celebrate our love with a sweet tooth heart attack!
Historic Oakland Cemetery is one of our favorite places and the site of our engagement photos. Tours are offered on the weekends exploring the rich history of Atlanta. Famous people like Gone with the Wind author Margaret Mitchell are buried here. It’s the only cemetery with enemy troops buried together. Great restaurants across the street for a bite to eat after!
