Da Ciacco
A wine bar that offers the best sandwiches, salads and antipasti in Lucca! It unapologetically doesn't serve pizza or pasta which after all the Cacio e Pepe and Ragu you'll be getting, it's a welcomed change! We recommend the 'Il Langhirano' (ham, lettuce, onion jam and burrata, in image) or the Roast Beef sandwich. Both BELLISIMO!
Osteria Baralla
A beautiful traditional Tuscan restaurant just off the main Piazza Anfiteatro, it does all the local dishes - Cacio e Pepe, Ragu with meat sauce, delicious steak and amazing wine.
Walls of Lucca
Lucca is known as the 'walled city' and was built in the 16th century. The walls are still completely preserved to this day and has had beautiful trees and greenery planted around it. Now, the city allows locals and tourists to walk or cycle on top of the walls of Lucca which boasts parks, a restaurant, and benches to take in the incredible views. It takes around 1 hour to complete the full wall but there are exits if you want to do it in stages. A must do whilst in Lucca!
Shopping in Lucca
If you are looking to indulge in some shopping whilst in Lucca then no need to worry! Via Fillungo is the main shopping street where they have many Italian crafted stores offering beautiful clothing, handbags, jewellery and beauty. Some familiar brands are; Sephora, Kiko Cosmetics, United Colours of Benetton, Footlocker, Calzedonia and loads more!
Piazza dell'Anfiteatro
The main Piazza in the walled city has an array of bars and restaurants around it. We stayed above it during our trip in December and can't wait to visit here with you all in May! The piazza comes to life in the high season with both locals and tourists
Fuori Di Piazza
A great place to order some cocktails, pizza and watch the world go by. When ordering from the house cocktail list, you can get a drink and snack (a full pizza!) for €9! The perfect people watching spot.
Bar San Michele - Aperitivi Lucca - Colazioni - Bar Lucca
A great place for an afternoon aperitif. A cafe in the morning that turns into a bar in the (early) afternoon. It does delicious pastries that go perfectly with a prosecco!
Trattoria Da Nonna Clara
If you want to feel like you are in an Italian grandmother's kitchen, then this is the place! It was Becca's highlight of our December trip. The best Vongole (spaghetti with clams) and tiramisu I've ever had!
Pizzeria Pellegrini
Best. Pizza. Ever. Grab a slice in-between bar hopping and enjoy!
