Flights

Flights into TF Green Providence airport (PVD) will be the most convenient for travel to Newport. There are rental cars available from the airport and ride share is also a very accessible option. PVD is around a 40 minute drive from downtown. Flights into Boston Logan (BOS) can also be handy and can help to minimize cost. You will need a rental car or private car service from here as it's ~1.5 hours drive and we often have trouble with rideshare. Contact Allie for private car contacts.

Driving

Driving into Newport is pretty straight forward, if you are coming from PVD airport or coming north on 95 from CT, there is 1 toll bridge onto the island, it exclusively takes toll by plate or EZPass. Coming from Boston, it's a straight shot all the way right into Newport! I'm definitely assuming everyone has GPS on their phone... Expect delays downtown for Summer traffic. Even though it will be after Labor Day, town is still bustling on what should be a gorgeous September day! Ride share (Uber and Lyft) is available throughout Newport and we very much encourage folks to ride share to The After Party.

Places to Stay

There are many beautiful hotels and B&Bs around town. An AirB&B booking for a whole home will be a great way to keep costs lower to share with friends and family. Most of these will be located on and around lower Thames St in the heart of the action of Newport! The Wayfinder Newport is just off the bridge and is a recently refurbished, niche hotel outside the action of downtown but still close enough to feel included. After a fire in 2022 they are back in action and primed to open their on property restaurant summer 2025! The Wyndham Newport Hotel is located in Middletown just across from beautiful First Beach and is a lovely option for "out of town" rates with all the charm of the local scenery. Local Bed and Breakfasts are mostly in old estates and are full of history and quiet comfort. Some of our favorites are The Cliffside Inn located steps from the iconic Newport Cliff Walk, or The Sarah Kendall House located in the neighbourhood called "The Point" which overlooks Narragansett Bay. There are many lavish hotels in downtown Newport, including Hammetts Wharf directly on the waterfront, or the Brenton Hotel with it's rooftop bar. There is also a Marriott positioned perfectly on the harbor and prime for points users. Please look sooner rather than later, as summer in Newport is a hectic time. Let us know if we can help you find the right solution.
