Day of Travel and Parking Information

Please see the Travel Page for a detailed map if needed. Taking a Ride Share: 37 Ledge Rd Newport, RI 02840 We'll be on the Carriage House lawn, come join us! Driving to our Venue: Pull up directions to 37 Ledge Rd. You will find a parking attendant on Ledge Rd. Let them know you're attending the Fitzgerald event and they will gladly direct you either to our on property parking, or to our overflow parking along the end of Ledge Rd.

I'm confused. Is...is this a wedding?
Answer
While we will be holding a very intimate vow renewal with immediate family only, we are most excited for everyone to join us for the main event and the reason you attend any real wedding, THE AFTER PARTY. Guests are welcome any time starting at 5. There will be dinner, drinks, games, and merriment.

Please RSVP before August 10th, so we can have an accurate headcount. :)

Are kids welcome?
Answer
Kids are welcome, or feel free to use us as an excuse to leave the kids at home! We will be in an indoor/outdoor setting, with grass to play in. There will be alcohol served, lawn games to be played, and a propane fire pit so please make that decision based on what's best for you and your family. While human children are welcome, please leave the doggos at home. Please be sure the headcount is accurate on your RSVP to include the little ones. If there's any confusion, reach out to Allie!

Where should I park?
Answer
There will be onsite parking with attendants to direct you. Street parking will also be opened up along Ledge Rd for the evening of our event. We encourage folks to use ride share (Uber/Lyft) if possible to keep everyone safe on their way home and to alleviate parking demand.

Is the event indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The space for The After Party is split between an open indoor space and a backyard, outdoor space. Ground coverings including grass, gravel, and concrete floors.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
Weather is weather...but historic data tells us: Newport this time of year is gorgeous! Sunset is around 7:10pm. Average historic high temps are 75F-67F (23.8C-19.4C) Average historic low temps are 62F-54F (16.5C-12.2C)

What should I wear?
Answer
Garden Attire: Wear sundresses, lighter hues, and fun hats and fascinators. Ties and jackets are not required, no jeans please. Some of the venue is on soft ground so stilettos are not advised. Come comfortable enough to play some light yard games and relax in soft seating. Don't forget those dancing shoes! Allie is always cold and will recommend a sweater for after the sun goes down.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
Answer
We do not recommend your pointiest stilettos, some of our space is in grass. Allie will be in flats.

Are the locations wheelchair accessible?
Answer
Yes, the space is wheelchair accessible, however much of the After Party space will be in short grass and gravel.
