Meet Our People :)

Alyssa Hodenfield

Maid of Honor

My DAY 1 GIRL. My baby sister and my best friend. What can I say - we all know how beautiful, successful, creative, independent, impressive, and super cool Alyssa is!! We have been through everything together. We have gone from fighting to see who could reserve the bathroom first each morning to experiencing college together and beyond. We have grown up to be the people we are today while supporting each other the whole way. I value Alyssa's advice and opinions probably higher than any other person in the world. She has a unique and fair perspective that I always strive to achieve myself. We continue to grow and evolve together as our lives change and the world changes. I am so lucky to have her as my rock and my Maid of Honor!

Mollie Mattson

Bridesmaid

Mollie is not only Marcus's sister, but has become one of my great friends. One of the big considerations that pulled us to Kansas City was that Mollie and Nate would be there and that we could spend time with them regularly! We have been so lucky to have them nearby and to have them as close confidantes. Mollie always inspires me with her dedication to constantly grow and improve, her kindness, and her compassion for others. She is an incredibly generous and giving person. Plus she makes one great Pinochle partner :) I feel so incredibly lucky to have a true friend as a future sister in law. We are also fortunate to have Mollie's husband, Nate, officiating our ceremony!

Macy Meyer

Bridesmaid

Macy and I met early in college through Delta Gamma, but our relationship truly kick-started to grow to what it is today when we traveled abroad together in 2015. Our friendship became so easy and inevitable as we helped each other navigate the streets of Florence, we took advantage of every new opportunity that came our way, and we shamelessly ate pizza, pasta, and wine for every meal! Macy is one of my closest friends. Our relationship is honest, sincere, and adventurous. I would travel the world with her again in a second if I had the chance! She is someone I turn to when I need honest advice, recommendations, or to just vent. We compliment each other so well, and I am so thankful that she is standing by my side on our big day.

Kenzie Harter

Bridesmaid

When I moved to Minneapolis for college I was so lucky to cross paths with Kenzie and that we immediately became friends. Delta Gamma brought us together, but our sincere connection made us best friends. Truly, it was weird if I went one day without seeing Kenzie. We ate together, went to sporting events together, went out together, lived together, and more than anything- were each other's complete support systems. My college experience hugely revolves around my relationship with Kenzie, and I feel so grateful for that. There were a lot of hard things about leaving Minneapolis back in 2016, but leaving Kenzie was probably the hardest. I am incredibly thankful that our relationship remains strong and I can't imagine my wedding day without her!

Marian Zalewski

Bridesmaid

Have you ever had a friend that felt like it was just meant to be? Marian is that friend for me. I met Marian at the very first social event we had in PA school. There were 70+ people in one room, and I happened to sit next to Marian. We hit it off immediately and our friendship was a given after that. Marian is the kind of person that inspires you to be better- she is incredibly smart (and is now a bad ass PA at Mayo), loyal (truly will drop anything for her friends), fun (tequila, anyone?), and she even motivated me to run a half marathon in 2018 (which she has actually ran a million of them)! Marian and I have that kind of friendship that just comes easily and I know will be a forever friendship!

Lauren Van Winkle

Bridesmaid

Lauren and I met through PA school and I cannot emphasize enough how much of a rock she has been for me. Lauren is truly the most sincere, nonjudgmental, and caring person I know. She is someone I trust with anything- from my darkest lows to my most joyful highs. Her and her dog Apollo lived just down the hall from me during the second year of PA school and we kept each other going. Whether that meant a venting session, keeping each other motivated to keep studying, going to yoga to decompress, getting outside for a hike for clarity, or singing karaoke at the dive bar across the street - I am SO lucky to have had Lauren in my life for the last few years, and I feel even luckier that she will be there for the long hall.

Gabriel Connealy

Best Man

Gabe has been one of my closest friends since freshman year at Creighton. We've had some fantastic experiences together, including intramural sports, a trip to the Final Four, a day in the life at Connealy Angus, and some inward jokes courtesy of WeFest. Next up is having Gabriel part of the wedding day. One of the aspects of our friendship that I value is Gabriel's honesty. He's a smart , hard-working dude who will challenge your ideas and make you get behind your opinions in a sincere way. Fun fact: the very first time he met Danielle 7 years ago, he asked, "Can I bet the best man at your wedding?" Who would've thought.

Beejan Mehrabani

Groomsman

Beejan is somebody who you want as a friend. He's extremely kind, selfless, humble, and funny. Beej makes a point to ask how you're doing every time you talk, and also made a point to get to know Danielle right from the beginning of our relationship. You can always bet on Beejan to make sure to include everyone's opinions into our group decisions, and is often at the center of planning our next boys' trip together. Fun fact: Beej built a beautiful, custom full set of furniture, including TV stand/entertainment center, coffee table, and sofa table for Danielle and my living room.

Tyler Gilman

Groomsman

Tyler is another friend that I've known since our freshman year of college at Creighton. He's one of those people I could spend all day with and have a good time whether we're doing something exciting or just sitting around all day, and we've done both plenty of times. Tyler and his wife Brittney were also incredibly gracious in allowing me and our dog Lilah to stay with them for a full month when I was on a medical school rotation in Dallas. Fun fact: Tyler and Brittney living in Kansas City was a significant factor in our choice to put Kansas City at the top of our rank of places to move for residency.

Quinn McLafferty

Groomsman

Quinn transferred to Creighton during our sophomore year, but nearly immediately became one of my closest friends. It would be hard to imagine our group of friends getting together without having Quinn there. He is a catalyst for some of our friends' favorite memories, and every time Quinn is present, he brings a positive energy that is infectious. From being the proud owner of a bolo tie from the state capitol gift shop in Austin to trying to convince us all to miss our flights in Nashville for one more afternoon together, it's never a dull moment with Quinn. Fun fact: A not-so-hidden talent of Quinn's is on the dance floor. We'll make sure the band plays a few favorites so everyone can experience the fun.

Carlos Soto

Groomsman

Carlos. What can I say. We spent COUNTLESS nights at Creighton studying at the library until it closed. It was such a benefit to have a friend like Los who was able to work all night and study when needed, and then unwind and have a good time as soon as we were done. Carlos has also been a wonderful friend to Danielle over the years and we will inevitably have a great night whenever we all get together. Fun fact: Carlos was one of the very first people that our dog Lilah met when we brought her home almost 5 years ago, and she still gets overwhelmed with excitement whenever she sees him.

Brooks Hodenfield

Groomsman

Brooks is Danielle's only brother and the youngest of the Hodenfield children. He is incredibly bright, clever, and understated; he is an extremely impressive guy and will be the last person to tell you as much. One of my favorite things to do with Brooks is play tennis when our family gets together. If I ever need to get knocked down a few pegs, I'll just ask him to play tennis and get my butt kicked every time. Fun fact: Brooks is on his way to a biomedical engineering degree at the University of Minnesota. He'll graduate the same month as the wedding!
