Most of this is located on the travel portion of our website but in General you will be flying to Seattle or Bellingham then either renting a car or taking the shuttle to the ferry.( Anacortes) From there you are taking the ferry from Anacortes to Orcas Island . If renting a car you have to make a reservation. Reservations are NOT out yet for August so please check back. They go very quickly as noted on the travel page they come out in tiers. IF walking onto to the ferry you do Not need a reservation. Once you're on the island it is very easy to navigate as it is a very small island.
Our best advise for flights is to book the earliest flight into Seattle and the Latest flight out of Seattle. you're going to need about an hour 1/2 to get to the ferry from Seattle( if renting a car,Longer if taking the shuttle) and the ferry requires you to be there at least an hour before your ferry( if driving onto the ferry). ( we got there two hours early in the off season and it was busy) so please keep this in mind.
After landing you’ll have a choice of either renting a car or taking the shuttle . If you’re driving yourself from Seattle airport to the ferry it’s about an hour and 45 to 2 hours to get to the ferry. If you’re taking the shuttle it takes longer because they have to stop along the way and change shuttles. So You’re looking at about 3 hours. As for the ferry it is about 45 minutes to the island and once you’re on the island it’s about 8 minutes to the main strip. We promise it’ll be worth it and it’s not as difficult as it seems.
