We recommend booking flights and accommodations as soon as possible. Newport has become a very popular summer destination and lodging options can be limited over holiday weekends. While we love your kiddos, we have decided to make this an adults-only celebration and we thank you for understanding. That said, if you are planning to bring your children to Newport for the weekend, Meg's sister who lives locally and has children of her own, would be happy to connect you with a babysitter and help arrange childcare for Saturday evening. The ceremony will begin at 5:30pm on Saturday at Regatta Place (5 Marina Plaza, Newport, RI 02840) and roll right into a cocktail hour followed by dinner and dancing. We suggest arriving a few minutes early.
Given that guests are staying all over town, we ask that you please arrange your own transportation to the wedding. A hail ride is likely the easiest option, but valet parking is available if you opt to drive to the event. We are looking into organizing group transportation post-wedding to a TBD watering hole downtown and will update the site once we've made a decision.
Outdoors! The tented venue is dockside on Goat Island in Newport Harbor. We appreciate everyone praying to the weather gods for a dry and sunny day! That said, the temperature does sometimes drop a bit during the course of summer evening, so you might want to bring a light layer...
If you've ever wanted to prep it out New England-style, here's your chance - go ahead and don some seer sucker, Nantucket reds and/or Topsiders! Alternatively, you could just wear something that is conducive to alfresco summertime dancing...
