MCO is the closest airport. Cocoa Beach is an hour away by car. There are shuttles to both the city and Port Canaveral but we recommend renting a car from one of the many vendors in and around the airport.
Travel Note
The toll road is by far the fastest route between Orlando and Cocoa Beach. Many rental agencies will offer to include a scanner for an extra $15 a day. However, we advise to simply bring a few singles and some quarters. The booths are typically unmanned but only amount to a few bucks either way.
Travel Note
Hotels, Motels, VRBOs, and AIRBNBs in every price range abound in and around this tiny beach town including several within short driving distance of the venue. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
Travel Note
In case anyone needed a reminder, Orlando is home to many fine attractions including Disney World, the admission-free Disney Springs, as well as Universal Studios. Cocoa Beach is itself, of course, primarily known for its beaches and is home to the original flagship location of Ron Jon's Surf Shop and numerous surf and boogie-board rental services. Other popular tourist activities include fishing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and para-sailing (and for the free-est of spirits, nude-sunbathing at Canaveral National Seashore!) For space enthusiasts, it's a 30 minute drive to the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral and any launches (if scheduled) are typically visible from the beach in town. For golfers, Cocoa Beach Country Club (our venue) is offering discounted rates and rentals for wedding attendees. It's also a great food and drink locale. For more info, see the "Things To Do" tab.
