Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
Best Friends is one of our favorite places on earth and there are so many ways to enjoy it. Even just driving through their extensive property yields inspiring moments and incredible views. You can take tours to meet animals from pups and pigs to ponies and parrots! They have a wonderful welcome center with a gift shop and lovely staffers who can answer any questions. We’d be remiss if we didn’t let you know how to volunteer like we did during our engagement trip! Dropping the link to sign up for shifts in this section here - our favorite shift/activity was taking a pup out on a field trip. We took the sweetest, tailless pitbull named Superman out for a picnic the day Ray proposed. You can also sign up for cute little sleepovers for extra cuddles. And remember, all these animals are adoptable... just sayin'...
Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile
We're kind of obsessed with the Mercantile aka the cafe/gift shop at the Best Friends Roadhouse where we'll be staying and have our room block. They not only serve complimentary coffee and pastries from 7am to 10am (all vegan and sourced from local vendors) AND have a spacious indoor/outdoor seating area but they also have the absolute cutest gift shop where we will, once again, be spending too much money on adorable Best Friends merch!
Angel Village Cafe
Best Friends has an adorable all plant-based cafe at the top of their property with an amazing view from their gorgeous deck! They serve buffet style lunch daily between 11:30am - 1pm for just $5 per person for staff, volunteers, visitors and locals!
Sand Caves
There are famed Kanab Sand Caves aka Moqui Caves just 5 miles outside town! The pics look incredible and the hike is supposed to be on the easier side out to this incredible natural landmark.
Zion National Park
National parks forever!! THE famed Zion is only 1 hr from Kanab. In fact, Kanab is a notorious stopping point Zion looky-loos!
Bryce Canyon National Park
Another national park?! We know! Bryce is about 1.5 hrs from Kanab!
