FAQs

The Wedding Website of Eva Gross and Rachel Reuben
Question

Will there be vegetarian and vegan options?

Answer

Yes to both and more! Our caterer is Chef Shon Foster of Sego Restaurant in Kanab who is just the best at creating inclusive menus with local Southern Utah fare. We will have a taco bar at the reception with vegan/vegetarian options as more than just an afterthought (and with enough to go around because Eva's going to smash their mushroom Tinga too)! Friday night we'll be bringing Peekaboo Pizza over to the Roadhouse from across the street, another vegan/veggie friendly local haunt. And don't forget the Roadhouse has all vegan pastries in their gift shop/cafe (free with your stay and available for purchase otherwise) and Angel Village Cafe on the Best Friends property as an exclusively plant-based buffet lunch for only $5 daily between 11:30am - 1pm if you want to brush elbows with staff, volunteers and visitors (it's open to the public and has a gorgeous view)! If you have any dietary restrictions, questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to Eva or Rachel anytime!

Question

What should I wear??

Answer

Truly anything you feel your best, dressy, fun, celebratory self in! You may have heard the rumors that we're leaning into the queer joy of it all so feel free to come in all the colors of the rainbow! We don't want dress code to be a stressor for anyone and just want everyone to feel spiffy and comfortable. This is a judgement free zone! We originally said "desert chic" so feel free to dust off the cowboy boots and bolo ties at the back of your closet. We'll be on dirt, wood and grass all night so we'll be wearing cute and sensible flats/platforms. As for weather, we've been told it could still be quite warm in September even in the evening. But then again it is the desert so we'd never not recommend a light, snazzy jacket just in case. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns!

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event, with the exception of children in the wedding party. We want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy the evening! We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us and are here to help with that as well. If you are traveling from out of town and need local childcare recommendations, please reach out to us and we will gladly share some trusted local options from friends we've made at Best Friends and beyond!

Question

How far is Salt Lake City?

Answer

We always forget how far southern Utah is from Salt Lake City... It's between a 4-5 hour drive from Salt Lake City to Kanab. Just a heads up!

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

Yes! Because we are celebrating at an animal sanctuary, four-legged friends are welcome. We ask that you only bring pups that are fully comfortable in large crowds and calm around other animals. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, and owners are responsible for their care and cleanup.
