*Technically, this was our first date spot. The -coffee- in, "networking further over coffee." Enjoy a delicious cuppa or breakfast sammie. We both love the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant.
Another fave go-to coffee spot. Mill House makes their delicious syrups in-house and is always experimenting with something poetic to match the season. Katie loves anything lavender flavored, and Eth enjoys a mocha with an extra shot of espresso.
The Ligonier Country Market farmer's market is an absolute summer staple. It's about a 30 minute drive from Downtown Johnstown and incredibly worth the experience. Amish donuts, fresh blueberry lemonade, smoked salmon breakfast quesadillas, breakfast grilled cheeses, freshly cultivated truffles, fresh produce, and so very much more. Just be sure to get an early start! The market is exclusively open Saturday mornings from 8am-noon, and we recommend getting there on the earlier end of things before it gets too crowded.
Yes, the brick building without windows. And one of the best breakfasts in town. If you need some morning grub on Saturday or Sunday, this spot is only a few minutes from Downtown.
Absolutely amazing offerings. From burgers to brussels sprouts, salmon salads to charcuterie, we love it all. A good bit of our paychecks were spent here when we lived downtown. Especially at the bar ;).
Downtown Johnstown's very own, very first brewery. The brews are delicious, as are the tacos. We've had the privilege of watching this establishment grow from essentially a big ass garage into the fantastic brewpub it is today. Go pay Jenn & Jeremy a visit. Tell them we say hi!
Located adjacent to Stonebridge Brewing Co. in Downtown, just a short walk from the Holiday Inn. An eclectic and delicious offering of tapas style cuisine and artfully crafted cocktails. We don't know what to recommend because it's all so good.
Located upstairs above Stone Bridge Brewing downtown, the Wine Loft is the most recent venture of Jen & Jeremy Shearer, owners of both Stone Bridge & Craft! It’s delicious, and Katie personally loves the Argentinian options!
Whether it's your first trip to Johnstown or your 20th, Asiago's is always worth a visit for the stunning views of the city, alone. Asiago's is located right next to the Inclined Plane, which is walking distance from the Holiday Inn, Downtown! So, have yourself a stroll over to the historic Inclined Plane, enjoy a unique transportation experience up the side of the mountain, and grab some drinks & a desert on the deck of Asiago's. We recommend the cocktail menu and the donuts!
The ambassadors of "look & feel" for the wedding, but far more than simply a flower shop. Cambria City Flowers, owned by dear friends, Steven & Chad, is the first in a line of Stella Development boutiques & businesses that make up the Cambria City neighborhood of Johnstown. If you're in the market for a locally/artisan made memento, you should absolutely check out the Stella boutiques: Cambria City Flowers and Brigid's Cross Religious & Spiritual Treasures.
America's oldest record store. Don't take our word for it, ask John (George). He'll tell you all about it. Wall to wall vinyl, George's has it all. Incredibly warm and inviting, you need not be intimidated by potential music snobbery, as you will not find it here. All of Katie's vinyl is sourced from here!
