Adrien: It was a balmy summer evening in Washington, DC. Ethan and Adrien, furiously swiping away on their phones through DC’s eligible bachelors on Tinder, stumbled upon each others profiles. "I guess he's cute," they said. They both swiped right. “Hey,” one of them said. "Hey," the other replied. "Wuttup?" "Nuthin much, you?" They instantly fell madly in love. The initial connection over messages was not enough, they had to meet in person. Adrien arranged for them to meet at Duke's Grocery, a place known for their British-style beef burgers, which was perfect for Ethan who was, and very much still is, vegetarian. Sadly, the date had to come to an end, and following their kiss farewell, neither of them could stop thinking about the other. They would see each other often - a date over tiki drinks at a bar called Archipelago, another date at an outdoor movie screening with his friend Andrea, dinner at his house with his other friend Claire, dinner at my house with no friends. It was perfect. Perhaps ready for the next step? Adrien met up with Ethan at a beer bar called Churchkey, and he very confidently asked, "so...how are we doing?" "What?" Ethan asks. "Oh, like. Are we good? Did you want to go steady?" "Oh. Uhhh I don't think I'm ready." "Okay, cool cool, just checking." Things were getting serious. Eventually, one of Adrien's friends Kelsey comes to DC for a visit with her husband Matt, and they meet Ethan. All of a sudden, after meeting Adrien's friend for the first time, Ethan realizes things are getting serious with Adrien, even though Adrien absolutely hung out with Ethan's friends all of the time. He was ready to be monogamous (but not use the label "boyfriend," cuz that would be too much). Eventually, they became "boyfriends." Years later, "fiancé" (though Ethan doesn't really like that term). And the rest is history :) Ethan: Tinder.
