Short Pump is an outdoor mall and is very close to the wedding venue. Jongwoon and I went on a lot of dates here! Since most of our guests will be staying in this area, we decided to add it to the list of things to do.
I put this on the list in case people were interested in looking at botanical gardens. It is also on the way from Richmond city to Dover Hall!
Carytown is a unique shopping, dining, and entertainment district with a focus on small, locally-owned businesses. There's so much to see and eat here!
We've got an amazing collection of artworks in Richmond! If you have time you should check it out. My favorite section is the Art Nouveau Collection.
The Robert E. Lee Memorial Bridge will take you over the James River, straight to Belle Isle! It's really cool if you're not afraid of heights. I used to bring food and picnic on the rocks!
I don't know if you will have time to check out Byrd Theater but this place is an architectural treasure! It was built in 1920's and you can still watch movies here. There are also rumors of ghost activities if you are into that type of stuff!
The Japanese garden is really beautiful!
I love Quirk Hotel's interior! They have an amazing art gallery and a nice rooftop bar! You can find Susie Ganch's artwork in the lobby.
This area of Richmond is known for its scenic, cobblestone street! If you do go, you should try The Tobacco Company Restaurant.
Jongwoon and I always go here whenever we are in town. They have the best sweet and savory pies. I recommend the Banoffee!
My favorite coffee shop in Richmond. I came here all the time during undergrad. You must try their Thai Coffee or their Tall Bike Blend!
For all the bread lovers, Sub Rosa is a wood fired bakery and stone-milling operation located in the historic neighborhood of Church Hill. Their pastries are so buttery and flaky and delicious! I recommend trying their croissants!
Another one of my favorite spots to eat during undergrad. Must try the Benny Goodman!
A nice cozy, French-inspired pastry shop. I remember them for their huge macarons, but I don't know if they changed in size.
The atmosphere here is cozy, but on busy nights it can get loud!
ICECREAM!
I have been going to this place to get boba since high school!
I loveee their chicken and waffles! Scott's Addition is also a really hip area to explore.
Nice cozy, breakfast place if you're looking for Southern hospitality!
Must try their fruit cake!
I really love the vibe here! In the summer they open up their windows. Great place to get drinks + frites!
I used to come here all the time when I lived in Richmond! I really love their speakeasy concept. The password changes every week, so you have to check the website. They serve delicious cocktails + food!
I recently went here with Jongwoon and my sister-in-law. They seem very serious and passionate about their coffee! I really liked their interior and how they had the garage doors up.
Kuba Kuba is a beloved neighborhood restaurant located in The Fan district that serves delicious Cuban food! Their portions are huge!
Village Cafe was close to my art building so I went here a lot. They serve breakfast all day- even at 12am! It is a place that has a lot of character and charm.
821 cafe is the hipster of all hipster places (in a good way)! It gets really busy here during brunch, but is worth the wait! Just like everywhere else in Richmond, this place has a lot of charm.
