Question

What should I pack if I am staying at camp?

Answer

Camp Augusta Packing List Bedding: Sleeping bag or warm blankets/sheets (it gets chilly at night!) Pillow and pillowcase Towels: One for the shower and one for the river/pool Toiletries: Shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and any personal essentials Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sun hat Bug Spray: Especially for the evening by the creek Flashlight or Headlamp: Essential for navigating camp after dark Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated! Clothing: Layers are key (cool mornings, hot days, chilly nights) Footwear: Sturdy closed-toe shoes for camp and flip-flops for the shower Swimwear: For the Yuba River, Hot Rocks, Gypsy falls Wedding Attire: Whatever the couple has specified (don't forget the shoes!) Portable Power Bank: Outlets can be limited in cabins

Question

What are the "cabins" like?

Answer

Most of the cabins here are what we call "open-air" tent cabins. This means the top of the walls are open to the forest on both sides, and instead of a solid door, you’ll have a vinyl flap. Electricity: cabins do not have electricity or lighting. You’ll want to charge your devices in the Main Lodge or bring a portable power bank. Temperature: Because they are open-air, they have no AC or heat. It stays cool under the trees during the day, but it will drop significantly at night—pack for "outdoor sleeping."

Question

Is there electricity and will there be WiFi?

Answer

To help you prepare for your stay, please note that cabins are not equipped with electricity or Wi-Fi. You can find power outlets for charging in the bathhouses, but since cell reception can be spotty, we suggest printing any necessary directions or info before you arrive.

Question

Can I store food in the cabins

Answer

To keep the local wildlife—both big and small—away from our sleeping areas, we kindly ask that no food be stored in the cabins or tents. If you choose to bring snacks or meals, you are welcome to store them in the staff lounge and kitchen area. Alternatively, you can keep items in your car at your own discretion. For those looking to eat out, there are several great restaurants nearby in town to enjoy!

Question

What is the bathroom situation?

Answer

We have four main bathhouses conveniently located throughout the grounds. While each is unique, they generally feature 4 to 5 bathroom stalls and 4 to 5 shower stalls. Since this is a summer camp, the facilities are rustic; most stalls are open-air at the top, though the centrally located bathhouse is a newer facility with floor-to-ceiling stalls. Every bathhouse includes sinks with running water and power outlets for your convenience. Additionally, there are two standard restrooms located inside the Lodge near the reception area.

Question

Should I bring my own drinks/alchohol

Answer

We are happy to provide an open bar featuring both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options during the cocktail hour and reception on Saturday, September 19th. If you would like to enjoy any beverages on Friday night or Sunday, feel free to bring your own along. Since it can get quite warm at camp, we also recommend bringing some Gatorade or electrolyte drinks to stay hydrated throughout the weekend!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Here is a Pinterest board with some inspiration for the ceremony and reception attire. https://pin.it/1jA2NApTj
