Question

COVID-19 UPDATE

Answer

We are both so devastated that this virus is ripping through the world and causing a lot of pain and suffering for so many people. We are trying to remain positive and we encourage everyone to practice social distancing during this time to bring the infection rate down. This is about saving lives. Regarding the wedding, we are changing things up to keep our friends and loved ones (and the entire community) safe. We will be having a private wedding ceremony on our planned date and having a one year anniversary party on May 8, 2021 that will be the exact wedding of our dreams. Please keep that date open, it is important to us that you be there to celebrate with us. Please stay safe and keep your friends and neighbors in your thoughts.

Question

Who should attend?

Answer

This celebration will be inclusive of all sexualities, all genders, all races, all religions. Love is love is love is love. If you share these values please join us!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 9, 2020

Question

What’s on the menu?

Answer

The appetizer will be a cheese and fruit spread. For dinner we will be having a delicious gourmet street taco buffet. There will be vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options on the buffet. Dessert will be various flavors of homemade fruit and cream pies. Later in the evening we will be roasting marshmallows on the fire pit and having a s'mores buffet. Cinder Block is a microbrewery so there will be plenty of delicious beer. Wine and cocktails will also be available, as well as nonalcoholic beverages.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids and we would love to celebrate with them. We also do not want you to miss our party because of childcare needs. Please bring your kids if you would like, just let us know they will be joining us so we can make sure we get an accurate head count.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

First and foremost, be comfortable. Secondly, be ready to spend some time outside. We aren't sure yet what the weather will be like on May 9, 2020 but we are planning on spending a lot of time on the patio at Cinder Block Brewery. The vintage Airstream photo booth, The Back Alley Brass Band, yard games, s'mores and general merriment will be out on the patio. We will also have a large indoor space with seating.

Question

Can we take pictures?

Answer

Please do not take photos during the ceremony. In fact, leave your phones and cameras in your pockets. We only get one chance to do this and we have hired a wonderful photographer to capture this special moment. Before and after the ceremony please feel free to take as many pictures as you'd like.

Question

Is Kansas City the same as North Kansas City?

Answer

These are technically two different towns. North Kansas City is a different municipality that is located north of the Missouri River. To make things even more confusing, Kansas City surrounds North Kansas City. So, north of North Kansas City is also part of regular Kansas City. Our wedding is in North Kansas City. But any Uber driver or GPS system will get you there without any difficulty.
