The chalet is about a 10-15 minute walk from the heart of town. Chamonix is super walkable and can be accessed very easily on foot! Renting bikes is also an option in town (see "Things To Do" for more details). Be sure to bring an umbrella in case of inclement weather!
Including us, there will be a total of 15 people staying at the chalet and attending all of the festivities. We can't wait to spend such an amazing time with you!
We will be providing a welcome dinner for everyone the day before the wedding, as well as some happy hour appetizers and dinner on the wedding night (you can reference the Schedule and Welcome Dinner Menu tabs for more details!). All other meals can be casual and self-provided. There is a full kitchen for cooking meals in the chalet, and the well-stocked grocery store is a 0.5 mile walk into town.
We're going pretty casual, so we hope you will too! Typical cocktail attire works great - while incorporating shoes suited for some light walking (possibly in the rain). For reference, unless horseback is hired, we will be walking to drinks and dinner after the ceremony, so no stilettos!
The long and the short of it is yes, but it's best to come prepared! Here is what the folks at the chalet told us: "The best approach would be for your guests to arrange a prepaid shipment for anything they’d like to send home. They would also need to bring—or arrange to have delivered—the appropriate packaging materials or boxes in advance."
Let us know! We want this time to be a super fun, intimate, and low-stress trip for everyone, so we are happy to answer any and all questions you may have. We are so excited to share this special time with you, and are thrilled to have you be a part of our wedding trip!
