The wedding is Beach Formal! (aka formal with a practical, and beachy, twist). See examples in the photo section. The Knot defines Beach Formal as: “An elegant beach wedding—so dress to impress, but also dress for the elements (sun, sand and water). He should wear: A suit, formal or linen (khakis are also acceptable), (ties and jackets optional). For shoes, dockers or loafers. She should wear: A formal dress at tea- or knee-length. Full length semi-formal dresses, as well as blouses with tea- or knee-length skirts are additional options. Flats, sandals, or heels.” *** Please note: The ceremony is on the beach and the reception on a large terrace. Ladies, a caution to heels on the dance floor as the patio is cobblestone and we don't want any injured feet! Shoes can be kicked off for the ceremony and the dance floor (flats or wedges are highly suggested, and stilettos must be removed to danc) so please plan accordingly.
We will be using this site for our RSVPs! The RSVP feature is now open, just search your name and select you/your party. *Dinner is a buffet so no need to select a meal option, you can try them all! However, please note any dietary restrictions for yourself/your party in the designated box.
Our registry is incorporated into this website, please see the registry tab above! As most of you know, Jake and I already have a home together and are packed to the gills with all the things we currently need, therefore you will see that the majority of our registry is comprised of "future funds." If there is a gift that you desperately want to get for us, you can send an amount and then let us know what to buy with it when we get our first home! Thank you for the consideration!
Being so close to Christmas, we have to honor the season! Our wedding will be Christmas and winter inspired. You can expect to see colors that represent the season such as burgundy, soft pink and gold along with other natural color accents.
As busy graduate students, Jake and I were worried that our selection of days would be small, and it was. Factoring in hurricanes season, hunting season for Jake of course, plus the school year and jobs, we didn't have many options. Luckily our date jumped out at us as the perfect time, Christmas is our favorite holiday, a time for family to come together and magic to happen! We are so excited to spend the days before Christmas joining our lives together in front of the people we love most.
The average high on Marco Island in December is a gorgeous 73 degrees, the average low is 54. While we can't predict the weather, we certainly hope our wedding day will have clear skies and a cool breeze. Make sure to check the weather before you come so you're prepared for the evening.
Jake and I will be honoring our loved ones who have passed with a special section of seats, as well as items incorporated throughout our wedding. While we are saddened that they have moved onto heaven, we know they will bring a little slice of heaven to our wedding day.
To my Kappa Delta sisters, although everyone won't be able to make it to my special day, I hope to incorporate those of you who can in a special way. Stay tuned for how later on (:
