Michelle wasn’t really looking for anyone at the moment. But after some nudging from her friend, Kris, she agreed to give at least one guy a chance. After Kris saw a picture of Eric online she gave her three reasons to Michelle as to WHY she needed to take a chance one this one. 1. He was good looking, 2. He was a Buckeye and 3. His name was Eric. Eric shared the same name with Kris's late husband, who happened to be a close friend to Michelle. Something about that just felt like a sign. Michelle agreed that she would try one date with this cute buckeye... Their first date took place on March, 20th, 2023. They met up for dinner but barely touched their food... they were too caught up in conversation and laughter. Not ready to call it a night, they slid over to Bahama Breeze (the only place open at midnight), hoping to stretch the evening just a little longer. It worked. Something clicked. From that night on, they became inseparable—bonding over their shared love of good food, their dogs, and Saturdays filled with football and Buckeye pride. Their lives wove together naturally, from watching weekend football games, learning a new skill of shuffle board, gym visits, home projects, late night pizza eating to weekend brunch and bopping around town with Cooper & Chandler. They started really talking about their future after ring shopping in Spring 2024. They knew they wanted marriage and a family. But life, in its usual way, stretched the timeline. Still, Eric and Michelle made the waiting beautiful. They traveled, celebrated birthdays and new beginnings, learned new skills, and are slowly transforming the house into a home for their future. Then came *Masters Weekend 2025*. No surprise, Eric spent April 12th, 2025 on the golf course with friends before coming home and watching the Masters. That evening, the festivities continued at home—music in the kitchen, drinks, snacks scattered across the counter, laughing and teeing off golf balls over the lake. With his brother and dear friend close by, and Michelle just steps away, Eric knew the moment had come. In the middle of the evening, he pulled off the biggest surprise of all—dropping to one knee and asking Michelle to marry him. She said yes. Now, almost exactly one year later, they’ll say *I do*—on *Masters Weekend*, of course! ;)
