FAQs

We want your trip to Richmond and our wedding day to be as easy and fun as possible! Here are answers to a few common questions about travel, the celebration, and what to expect.
Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins promptly at 4:30 PM at The Len, directly across the street from our reception venue. We recommend arriving around 4:00 PM to allow time for parking, grabbing a drink, socializing, and getting settled before the ceremony begins.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. No need for full formality! Our wedding is vibrant and comfortable — feel free to wear bright, cheerful outfits and come ready to celebrate.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our celebration will take place in a dual space: the ceremony will be indoors, and the reception is in an open-air, covered area with both indoor and outdoor elements. Please dress comfortably for the season and weather.

Question

Can I bring a guest or my children?

Answer

Your invitation reflects exactly who we are able to accommodate, so we kindly ask that only the guests listed attend. Our reception space is cozy, and we’ve worked hard to include our closest family and friends. While we adore your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. Thank you so much for understanding—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Is there a hotel block for guests?

Answer

Yes! We’ve reserved a block at the Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott in downtown Richmond, just a short 0.3-mile walk from our venue. Please see our Travel page for the link to book within our block.

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

Here are convenient options near The Len & Havana ’59: Lovings Lot (Lot 160) — a short walk away and well-lit. Lot 128 (N. 18th St.) — another nearby surface lot. Lot 222 (17th St.) — a solid option within walking distance. Additionally, on-street parking is available and free after 6:00 PM. Rideshares like Uber or Lyft are also common in the area and easy to arrange.

Question

What will be served at the reception?

Answer

We’ll start with a cocktail hour featuring light hors d’oeuvres, followed by a traditional Cuban buffet-style dinner. The bride is celiac, so the menu includes safe gluten-free options along with a variety of proteins and vegetarian choices. If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know.

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

Of course! We’ll have a fully stocked bar with plenty of options to keep the celebration lively.

Question

What happens between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

After the ceremony at The Len, head over to Havana 59, just across the public promenade, for happy hour with drinks and light bites. The bride, groom, and family will join you there after photos, and then the evening continues with dinner and dancing!

Question

Can we visit the Havana '59 cigar bar at the venue?

Answer

Yes! Havana ’59 has a cozy cigar bar downstairs where guests are welcome to stop in. It’s a fun spot to enjoy a cocktail and soak up the venue’s Cuban-inspired atmosphere before or after the celebration.
