The go-to spot for visitors, overlooking gorgeous Friday Harbor. Located right on the water edge in the Port of Friday Harbor just off of the ferry terminal. Menus include ingredients from local purveyors, including oysters, smoked salmon, fresh fish and other PNW favorites. Downriggers is local family owned and operated. Summer is busy - reservations are recommended.

Pelican Bay Books & Coffeehouse is a family-owned used bookstore in the heart of Anacortes, perched on the edge of the Salish Sea. They serve our favorite coffee: Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. Highly recommend a visit on your way to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. This is such a cute spot to pick up a coffee and treat before the ferry ride.

If you're taking the Anacortes Ferry, call ahead and order one of these delicious (& huge) sandwiches! It's a great pack-on lunch. If you have time to spare, order in and enjoy the charming town!

Though it’s possible to see whales here year-round, July is one of the best months, especially for orcas. Humpback whales are most commonly seen from August through October. If by chance you don't see whales on a tour, most operators offer a free or discounted ticket to go again.
