Best Man
Being a best man is no easy task-- and Matt could not have picked a better man for the job. In addition to passing on some formidable Quebecois genes (Je me souviens), Matt's father introduced him to sushi, showed him France, and has generally helped him get into good situations and out of some tough ones. In addition, he has modeled never giving up on one's dreams: marriage, family, and getting paid to do what you love.
Karla Lane
Maid of Honor
Karla has been Erica's favorite person in the world since pretty much the very beginning (see photo for evidence). Karla is the best older sister around and no other person could fill her shoes as Maid of Honor.
Caleb Brennan
Groomsman
Caleb is the best brother anyone could ask for-- and the only person in the family who understands which remotes work the TV. Caleb and Matt have been having good times since Caleb first "agreed" to go sledding with Matt when he was 3. Since then they've done midnight movies, won a small fortune on Pennsylvania scratch tickets, and proven how fast a Camaro can go on a Groton back road. Matt is so excited Caleb will be back from Colorado in time to be part of this adventure.
Janay Scott
Bridesmaid
Janay and Erica have been best friends since their Freshman year of college where they fondly look back at the moment they first realized they had become best friends (AKA the moment they first admitted that the other one was annoying the crap out of them). Since that time they've been by each other's sides to manage all of life's biggest ups and downs.
David Robinson
Groomsman
Matt met Erica's brother David over the summer and instantly recognized him as a great guy to become friends with. In addition to having serious opinions about Detroit sports and cuisine, David shares Matt's "no-IPA" policy and can handle kibbeh nayyeh with the best of them. When you meet a guy who knows how to be a great husband, father, maker and doer DESPITE living in Ohio, you make sure to become his friend. Matt is looking forward to many more great times with David.
Lauren Buck
Bridesmaid
Lauren and Erica met in 3rd grade and then due to Lauren being a genius (AKA skipping 4th grade) they lost touch and magically reconnected their senior year of college in an MCAT prep class. Lauren is loved for a zillion reasons but lately topping the list is her perfect ginger daughter that Erica is obsessed with.
Josh Spencer
Groomsman
Josh is Matt’s oldest friend, and they have been tearing it up since 8th grade. From Fribbles to Pearl Jam, from Tecmo Bowl to Shuakills, Josh has driven Every. Single. Time. Matt has always been Twenty. Minutes. Late. And yet, they have managed to remain friends. Josh was the first person Matt ever knew who walked the talk. "I'm moving to LA." Done. "I'm going to make movies for a living." Done. "I'm going to have an awesome wife and a cool kid." Done. "I'm going to make being Irish look good." Done.
Amanda Loskill
Bridesmaid
Amanda and Erica have been friends since they were 14 which means they can now clearly say they have lived more life together than apart. This includes many stupid and wonderful moments like being briefly detained at the Canadian border at age 16 for looking suspicious and saying they wanted authentic Tim Hortons to border control officials.
David Streever
Groomsman
Matt first met David on the mean streets of New Haven when Streever was in the toughest bike gang in town. Streever was kind enough to make some time for a pint, and has been there for Matt ever since. In addition to being the most levelheaded guy around, David has gone on to continue setting a beautiful bar: getting married, having a daughter, publishing several books, and working for NPR. Throughout it all he’s always been an amazing friend, and has understood that all British comedy is drastically under-appreciated.
Jessica Chaffkin
Bridesmaid
Jess and Erica met during residency at Yale where they immediately bonded over their shared love of happy hour and finding creative ways to make going to the beach a weekday activity. Over the past couple of years Jess has become one of Erica's favorite people and closest friends. It also should be said that Erica is very grateful that Jess forgave her for a COVID exposing shared lemon bar back in March. Besides Jess working overtime daily by helping to keep Erica sane, she is also Mother to Matt's favorite dog Riley.
Nir Yehudai
Groomsman
If anyone needs a good therapist, look no further. Matt and Nir first bonded over psychodynamic theory at a conference. Since then they have hiked, swam in the ATLANTIC in WINTER, and have eaten the spiciest of wings. In the current election cycle Nir and Matt have helped keep each other's anxiety in check. Nir has a black belt in emotional Krav Maga, loves life, Lital, and Adam, and gets the joys of small-town New England like a champion.
Collin Fuller
Bridesman
Collin and Erica met in medical school and quickly became inseparable...in part thanks to Hurricane Sandy which left Collin homeless and a new resident of Erica's couch. Since then they've stayed best friends, seen all the movies, traveled the world together, and recognize each other as siblings by choice.
Joe Gallego
Officiant
Joe and Erica met during residency where he quickly became her closest friend and sounding board at Yale. When thinking about who Matt and Erica would want to marry them in front of their closest family and friends, they immediately thought of Joe. He is one of the most genuine, thoughtful, and funny people they know. And, to top it off, this isn't his first rodeo: Joe also moonlights as an in-demand wedding officiant with two other weddings planned for May.
