The Wedding Website of Erika Leone Reggiani and Enrique Castro Diaz
San Miguel de Allende, a colonial-era city in Mexico’s central highlands, is known for its baroque Spanish architecture, thriving arts scene and cultural festivals. In the city’s historic, cobblestones center lies the neo-Gothic church Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel (where the wedding will take place), whose dramatic pink towers rise above the main plaza, El Jardín. Its Baroque/Neoclassical colonial structures were "discovered" by foreign artists who moved in and began art and cultural institutes such as Instituto Allende (the wedding venue). In 2008, San Miguel was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A remarkable example of 16th-century Spanish Colonial Baroque architecture, as well as a place of vital importance during the Mexican War of Independence. The town's cosmopolitan panache is reflected in its excellent restaurants and high-class accommodations. Galleries are stocked with quality Mexican artesanías and cultural activities are on tap for residents and visitors.
