FAQs

Here you can find our answers to some questions you may have about our wedding. If you do not find an answer to your particular question please contact us at: enedandorionswedding@gmail.com
Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While we are always praying for rain, it would be wise for you to be ready for hot and windy! The average high in June is 83 degrees. Large brim hats, long sleeves and other forms of sun protection are highly recommended. The ceremony will be out in the open so please prepare accordingly (parasols, hats, fans). The feast will be in a shady tent.

Question

If we are coming from sea level how can we prepare for the altitude?

Answer

We are at 6500 feet, so many of you beloved coast dwellers may experience discomfort due to altitude. To avoid this please drink a lot a lot a lot of water. Also, you can take chlorophyll (it is sold at health food stores in a tincture bottle) to help you acclimatize. Also, giving yourself a few days to get used to the elevation before you are running around at a wedding is not a bad idea, if it is possible for you to come early.

Question

What essentials should I pack?

Answer

Well, that completely depends on how you get/remain comfortable. Think about sun exposure, hydration, elevation and bugs when you pack! The wedding, feast and reception are being held outside and in a tent with no walls. If you have specific questions please let us know.

Question

Where should I stay while I am here?

Answer

Please look on the travel and lodging tab for a list of our recommendations as well as their distances from La Madera. Our area has a lot of camping, air bnb's, resorts, and motels. Because we live in a rural area it is not unusual to travel 45-60 minutes between destinations, so be prepared for a bit of driving regardless of where you decide to stay. Please contact us at "enedandorionswedding@gmail.com" if you are having difficulty finding accommodations that meet your needs.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

They are absolutely essential. Please bring them.

Question

Are dogs welcome?

Answer

We are sorry to say that dogs are not welcome at the wedding site. Please check with the place you are staying for their policies.

Question

What is the landscape of Northern New Mexico?

Answer

High desert. Juniper forests, sage brush, mesas. June is often hot, dry and windy. It is important to hydrate and use sun protection when you are here. It is important to look before you grab or step to avoid snakes, scorpions and venomous spiders.

Question

How can I help?

Answer

Most importantly, you can stay hydrated. Additionally, you can arrive up to a week early if you would like to help out with setting up, cooking and the like. Also you can stay after brunch on Sunday for our clean up. Please email us at enedandorionswedding@gmail.com for more information about volunteering. There is also a wedding fund that can be donated to on the registry website.
