FAQs

Question

Why the Tree of Life?

Answer

Emma just loves the Tree of Life. She visited the tree for the first time in April 2020 after she found an apartment for us to move to. She makes everyone who visits go and look at the tree. It feels like a special place. The Living Oak is estimated to be about 300 years old, maybe even older than the city of New Orleans.

Question

What do you mean "sparkles, bold colors, and fun patterns?" Can you be more specific? Is that a dress code?

Answer

It's the dress code! If we must call it something let's call it Festive/Coctail Chic. The most important thing is that our guests have fun and feel comfortable and beautiful. But it's also Spring in New Orleans, so let's have some fun with what we wear! Do you have a favorite tie or dress or shoes that you never have the right occasion to wear it? Wear it here! Sparkly gold shoes? Amazing. A floral shirt that's a bit too loud for work? Love it! If you ask yourself "maybe this is too much," it's probably perfect. If you would wear it to happy hour hosted by Elton John, it is extra perfect.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

You can park in front of the Tree of Life or in the surrounding neighborhood. The ceremony and reception are basically in the same place, so no need to drive in between. Ride share is always a good option!
