Getting to Telluride For those flying in, we recommend booking your flight into Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) - the closest major airport to Telluride. From Montrose, it’s about a 1.5-hour drive through the breathtaking San Juan Mountains to reach town. Transportation options: Rental Cars: Available at the airport for guests who prefer the flexibility to explore. However, getting around Telluride by car isn’t necessary - the town is very walkable, and the free gondola system makes it easy to travel between downtown Telluride and Mountain Village. You’ll find shops, restaurants, and short hikes all within steps of most accommodations. Shuttles: Convenient and comfortable shuttle services are available for a ride directly to Telluride. Please note that mountain roads can be winding, and weather conditions may change quickly, so allow yourself a bit of extra travel time.

If you're flying into Grand Junction Regional Airport, it's about a 2 to 2.5-hour drive (120 miles) to Telluride. You can rent a car at the airport and take US-50 to CO-141 S, then onto Highway 145 to Telluride. If you prefer not to drive, shuttle services like Alpine Express are available for pre-booking or at the airport.
