The elevation of the town is 8,750 ft. Our ceremony will take place at 10,540 ft. The elevation is no joke! We recommend arriving by Wednesday at the latest, if possible, to give yourself time to acclimate before the festivities begin. To help your body adjust, stay hydrated, and take it easy the first day. If altitude tends to affect you, consider picking up Boost Oxygen canisters or altitude sickness relief tablets, both of which can be found at local grocery stores and pharmacies in Telluride.
While we love your little ones, we hope you’ll take this opportunity to enjoy a night off and celebrate with us. Telluride Sitters offers toy and baby gear equipment as well as child care services. Their staff only includes professionals who are over 21 and CPR/First Aid certified. Visit their website for more information!
Welcome Party: Western formal or cocktail attire. Ceremony & Reception: Black tie optional, with a focus on being practical and weather-ready. Telluride’s mountain weather can be unpredictable - it could be sunny and warm or even snowing! We recommend closed-toe shoes and bringing a coat or wrap to stay comfortable throughout the evening.
A rental car isn’t completely necessary in Telluride. Once you arrive, you can easily explore by taking the free gondola that connects Mountain Village and downtown Telluride. The ride itself is scenic and runs late into the evening, making it a fun and easy way to get around. At the base of the gondola, you’ll find restaurants, breweries, bars, shops, and beautiful hikes all within walking distance. Whether you’re grabbing a drink, exploring town, or taking in the views, everything you need is close by - no car required. For more details, see our Things to Do page, where we’ve listed which activities require a car and which don’t to help you plan your stay.
