We met the way all great modern romances do: on Hinge. Daniel kicked things off by commenting on a photo of Emily running the New York Marathon—because nothing says “long-term potential” like someone voluntarily running 26.2 miles - check out "Our Story" for the real message exchange! From there we were off to the races - Daniel expertly dove into the role of "wedding date" at a string of summer weddings while Emily did her best to become an expert "marathon girlfriend" helping Daniel prepare to run the 2023 Chicago Marathon. Colder weather brought introduction to family and friends, our first shared holidays and the start of our own Chicago holiday traditions. By the time Spring 2024 rolled around we were gearing up for our next set of adventures running our first marathon together in Paris, hiking the grand canyon, visiting Martha's Vineyard and taking the leap to become "roommates" in our new home in Lincoln Park! Summer flew by and we settled into a happy rhythm of cookouts, long runs, rounds of golf and many ice cream cones at Dairy Queen. As winter neared conversation turned to the next chapter of our life together and while on a family ski trip to Salt Lake City Daniel suggested Emily go for a "quick workout" so he could ask her parents a very important question. On a suspiciously warm Friday in February, Daniel brought Emily to one of their favorite spots in Lincoln Park—conveniently close to their future wedding venue. He asked. She said yes.
