Flight
I recommend flying directly into this airport if you can, it will bring you right to Arcata and save you time if your time is short. This airport is right here in Humboldt, and you can pick up a rental car when you land or schedule a shuttle with the airport to get to your stay. Coordinate with others on arrival/transport and we can always help with pick-up if needed! You must either fly or connect to United to fly in. There are direct flights from San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Denver. If you're elsewhere and plan to fly, you'll connect in one of those cities and will fly United into Arcata. Choose your flight cautiously so that if you're delayed you won't miss the big day. The smaller flights often get bumped out if anything cheeky happens at SFO.
Flight
Sometimes you can find cheaper flights in Santa Rose, and you can pick up a rental car and drive up. It's about 3 hours, so unless it's a lot cheaper it's usually worth it to fly right into Arcata. But hey, check out all of your options! Recommend coordinating with others to carpool up/down if this is your route!
Flight
There's always the option of driving up from San Francisco. This obviously gives you plenty of flight and price options, but means you will be driving up from the Bay Area. This is a very "local" thing to do, as we are used to zipping all over California. But if you have limited time, it's going to cost you 4+ hrs each way. Other airports you can consider flying into if you are going to drive up would be Oakland, San Jose, and even Sacramento. **Recommend coordinating with others to carpool up/down if this if the route you go.
House Or Rental
We definitely recommend airbnbs! Reserve early because they book fast. Any of these towns would be great, but check google maps so you are oriented to where you'd be in relation to wedding festivities before you book! South to North: Ferndale/Fortuna: These are the towns nearest the reception. You'd be located conveniently for that, but keep in mind you would still need to consider transportation throughout the weekend. Eureka: This is another bigger town that would nice to stay in. I would try and find something in Old Town. Old Town is the historic part of Eureka with lots of attractions and restaurants you can walk to. (It's also where some of the homeless population gets by, as an FYI) Arcata: There are plenty of good restaurants and fun places to get a drink around Arcata, you'd also be close to Trinidad which has great beaches! Trinidad: This is a cute beach town (near all the best beaches) that will get you lots of ocean views and a great weekend stay.
Hotel
This is a great Victorian in Old Town Eureka with a nice restaurant and a full bar. If you want a little nicer stay while you're here, this is a great spot. It's a little further from the where the ceremony and reception are, but close to restaurants, and closer to the location of the Welcome Dinner.
Hotel
This is an awesome, unique stay option (on the nicer end) with views and lots of picturesque treats like an outdoor bathtub. They have a little restaurant, and a bar. Take a thorough look through their website and make sure you have a sense for where it is, and what it's like before you book. It's a little bit off the beaten path but would be a great stay.
House Or Rental
If one of these are available and you're looking for a simple relaxing stay, I recommend booking here ! It's right in town in Arcata.
Rental Car
You can rent a car right at the airport, I recommend reserving early. If you aren't driving to Humboldt, or have a car within your party I really recommend renting one so you can get around without depending on cabs/Ubers--they are not as easy to grab in our area and often have long waits.
Rental Car
You can call 707-839-4186 to reserve a ride from the airport to your hotel, and from your hotel to the airport. Note: I've gotten shuttle rides with them before but I tried calling to confirm they were still open and never got a call-back. Worth a try, but make sure you check first!
Hotel
We are holding a room block option here which is available for our guests at a preferred rate of $89/night. This is a simple, affordable option in Fortuna which is close to the reception. We plan to have transportation back to this hotel the night of the reception, but please check back for updates! To reserve, you must call and give the discount code "Baldwin/Sarvinski Wedding", ask for Alicia. The deadline to reserve is SEPTEMBER 17th.

This airline has super cheap flights into Arcata if you can connect/fly from LA (Burbank Airport). Take a look and see if it might work for you! Major savings.

Hotel
This is a historic hotel in Ferndale, which would put you well-located for the reception. The Victorian Inn has a restaurant and bar as well.
Hotel
If you don't mind being a little further from the wedding day festivities, Eureka is a good place to stay. This hotel is a boutique, historic inn in Old Town with a fun bar, Phatsy Kline's! There's plenty of other food and drink within walking distance.
